Chapter 103 - Breaking the Core

The balance couldn't hold forever.

Everyone felt it.

One side—

Was about to break.

— The Opening —

Juvy steadied her breath.

Her light didn't flare wildly anymore.

It pulsed.

Like a heartbeat.

Maxruell stood beside her.

Shadow tight.

Contained.

"…We take one down," he said.

Juvy nodded.

"…The light one."

A pause.

"…It adapts too fast."

Maxruell smirked.

"…Then we overwhelm it before it can."

— The Plan —

Behind them—

The freed users gathered.

Not many—

But enough.

Lina stepped forward.

"…I'll limit its movement."

Kael added quietly:

"…I'll disrupt its reaction timing."

Juvy looked ahead.

"…Then we end it."

— Engagement —

They moved.

Together.

The light Core reacted instantly—

Shifting stance—

Preparing to mirror.

But this time—

It wasn't one-on-one.

— Lina Locks It —

Lina raised her hand.

Her light spread outward—

Not attacking—

Binding.

The Core's movement slowed—

Just slightly.

"…Now!" she called.

— Kael Distorts —

Kael stepped in—

Space bent around the Core.

Its perception—

Delayed.

Just enough.

— Juvy Moves —

Juvy stepped into the opening.

Light flowing through her—

Not around—

Through.

She didn't rush.

She aligned.

The Core tried to adapt—

Too late.

— Maxruell Strikes —

From the opposite side—

Maxruell appeared.

No hesitation.

Shadow condensed—

Sharp.

"…You're done."

— Impact —

Juvy struck first—

A precise hit—

Cracking its core.

Maxruell followed—

Driving his shadow straight through the fracture.

— Break —

Silence.

Then—

The Core shattered.

Light scattered—

Fragments bursting outward.

The shockwave rippled across the battlefield.

The remaining two Core Fragments paused.

The Vessel—

Stilled.

"…core fragment… lost…"

Its voice—

Lower.

Different.

— The Shift —

Freed users felt it instantly.

The pressure lessened.

More of them broke free.

The balance tipped further.

— Juvy's Realization —

Juvy exhaled slowly.

"…It worked…"

But her expression didn't relax.

"…But it's not over."

— Maxruell's Reaction —

Maxruell looked at the shattered fragments.

"…One down."

He turned toward the remaining two.

"…Two to go."

— The Vessel Evolves Again —

At the center—

The Vessel moved.

Not reacting emotionally—

But adapting.

The remaining Core Fragments—

Shifted.

Their forms tightened.

More refined.

Stronger.

"…reallocation…"

"…efficiency increased…"

The two remaining Core Fragments stepped forward.

Their presence—

Heavier than before.

Juvy raised her hand.

Light steady.

Maxruell stepped beside her.

Shadow ready.

Behind them—

The freed stood firm.

The battlefield—

Still divided.

But now—

Hope had weight.
