They called it preparation, but there was truly not much to prepare. Ewan had no intention of making food to bring along. They were carrying quite a load up the mountain this time, traps filled Asher Ryder's large basket to the brim, with a few extra ones strung together to carry by hand. With such cumbersome gear, bringing food was both a hassle and a waste of time waiting for it to cook. Ewan merely threw some spices into a leaf, wrapping it hastily before stuffing the small pouch into his chest pocket.
With these on hand, if they managed to catch anything on the mountain later, they could just roast it. Whipping up a dipping sauce on the spot would be incredibly convenient.
