That was the reason they had returned so late.
Normally, if it were just the two Alphas, Asher Ryder and Wyatt probably would have carried the wild boar straight down the mountain. In that situation, leaving the mountain as soon as possible was paramount. But with two Omegas accompanying them today, they did not dare take the risk. What if they went straight to the forest edge, and that giant beast caught their scent and gave chase? The Alphas could outrun it on their own, but the Omegas were a different story.
Taking a little extra time to ensure safety was well worth it.
Hearing this, Ewan and Simon breathed a sigh of relief. A close encounter was one thing, but avoiding a fight with the creature was definitely for the best.
The four of them rested for a moment before resuming the trek home with their gear. The distance from here to Asher Ryder's house was shorter, and since there was a stream right in front of it, the group decided to detour to Asher Ryder and Ewan's place.
