Lyra's POV
"Excellent work," Ash said, his voice carrying across the training field.
"Well done, Ironwood," Alaric acknowledged with approval. "Continue practicing that technique over there. Try projecting it toward the grass with more force this time. Think of it as a weapon you're launching. Just make sure you don't ignite the entire field."
Ash chuckled softly and gave a casual shrug. "I'll do my best."
He moved across the field with confident strides, the glowing orb materializing in his hands once more. I watched as he gently released it from his palms, sending it earthward with considerably more velocity than when he had demonstrated for me earlier. The sphere looked decidedly more dangerous now, more like an actual weapon than a simple light display.
"Eclipse," Alaric called out. "You're up."
"Lyra and I have established our bond," Xander stated matter-of-factly. "But when I reach for her energy, it burns like fire."
