Lyra's POV
My Sunday with Alaric stretched into evening, and I couldn't have been more grateful for the break from training. The thought of facing Xander while carrying Alaric's scent made my stomach twist with anxiety.
Not that we spent the day being idle.
Alaric and I explored every corner of his house with an intensity that left me breathless. The living room, kitchen, his study, even the hallway. We christened each space with desperate touches and whispered promises.
When I finally dragged myself back to the dorm around eight, my legs felt like jelly. Poppy pounced the moment I walked through the door, firing questions faster than bullets. How was it? What was his place like? Did he live up to expectations?
I managed to answer maybe half before exhaustion pulled me under. Poppy ruffled my hair with a knowing grin, promising we'd continue our interrogation tomorrow before retreating to her own bed.
