Lyra's POV
"Xander," I breathed his name.
He responded with a low rumble against my sensitive flesh, the vibration making me gasp and push up toward him. My hands found his shoulders, attempting to create some distance between us. He lifted his head with a growl, his eyes sharp with hunger.
"The door," I managed to say between ragged breaths. "The others might—"
"They're gone," Xander murmured against my skin as he kissed lower along my stomach.
"Gone?" The word came out as barely more than a whisper as I felt his teeth grazing the waistband of my shorts.
"Wanted to give us space," he said, his voice muffled by fabric. "May I keep going?"
Relief flooded through me and my eyes drifted closed again. "Yes."
He moved further down my body but then paused completely. I lifted my head to see what had stopped him, only to find myself suddenly spun around. My palms hit the mattress as I landed face down, arms stretched wide.
"What are you—"
