Chapter 187 - 187: Gift for the Goddess

Hearing the bald woman's words, Axel's eyes immediately lit up.

"Wow, so you're Cassandra, the one who…!"

"Wait, that's right, she's the Cassandra I told you about!"

From the car nearby, Johnny stumbled out of the driver's seat and quickly raised his hand to stop Axel from continuing.

As he cut him off, Johnny hurriedly added,

"Just like I said, she's the only Queen of the Void, or rather, a goddess. I admit she has a unique charm. I even dream about her sometimes."

Johnny let out a strained breath. Luckily, he reacted in time.

Meanwhile, Cassandra smiled faintly at Axel.

"That's right, I am the Cassandra he spoke of."

As she spoke, her figure flickered. The air around her distorted, and in the next instant, she appeared directly in front of Johnny.

Johnny shivered violently and raised both hands at once.

"Hey… listen, I've never had any bad intentions toward you. The reason I didn't accept your invitation before was… was… fine, I admit it, I was shy, okay?"

"Ah, what an interesting excuse. It's exactly what dozens of Johnnys have said before they died," Cassandra replied with a grin. "Every Johnny thinks he's a superstar."

She casually patted his shoulder. Just as Johnny's legs began to tremble, she abruptly changed her tone.

"But you're lucky. I'm no longer interested in you."

With that, she turned, and in the same motion, reappeared in front of Axel.

Pointing at his slightly damaged coat, Cassandra chuckled.

"You know, Wraith, there's no time in the Void. I was sent here when I couldn't even walk, and now I can't even remember how long I've existed. I've seen all kinds of life here, humans and countless other species."

She paused, her smile widening.

"More importantly, this place connects the multiverse. The same individuals appear again and again."

She raised her hand and pushed her fingers straight through Axel's skull, into his brain.

As her fingers moved inside, she continued calmly,

"I've been here so long that I've killed almost everyone more than once. Dozens of Johnnys, hundreds of Logans, and thousands of Wades. I've seen every version of them."

Her gaze sharpened.

"But I've never seen you. Not this version, not any version. A newcomer like you… I would call you the most interesting gift I've received in a long time. Especially one with some power. You might entertain me."

From the side, Deadpool suddenly shouted,

"Woohoo! Axel, her hand is in your brain!"

"Yeah, I noticed," Axel replied with a chuckle. "No idea why she wants to massage my brain, but her technique is pretty good. Feels warm. A little itchy."

He looked straight at Cassandra, smiling.

Cassandra paused, tilting her head slightly.

"Strange."

Her fingers continued to move inside his skull.

"I can't read thoughts like my brother without contact, but once I touch a brain, nothing stays hidden."

She narrowed her eyes.

"But yours is different. It's just chaos, like an empty void. Interesting. I really want to see what's inside."

As she spoke, her fingers slid out through Axel's eye socket and brushed lightly across his nose.

Logan, Wade, and the others stared in shock, but Axel spoke casually.

"So you want to see my brain? You could've said that earlier. It's not a big deal. If you ask, I'll show you."

Without hesitation, Axel reached up and forced his fingers into his own skull.

"What?"

Cassandra's expression shifted in surprise, but Axel didn't stop. He twisted his hand violently and tore the top of his skull open.

Axel inhaled sharply.

"That's the worst part. Once the skull is open, nothing else really hurts."

Then, as if scooping something soft, he lifted his brain out and held it toward her.

"Here. Take a good look."

Cassandra froze for a moment. It was the first time she had encountered someone like this.

Even the countless Deadpools she had seen still carried fear. They all feared losing someone important.

But Axel…

She swallowed, then took the bloody brain from his hand.

After weighing it slightly, she looked back at him.

"This isn't an illusion, and no magic can deceive me. So what is this? Removing your brain isn't the strange part. The question is, how are you still talking? Even with immortality, you should need time to recover."

"Ah?" Axel waved dismissively.

"Why complicate things? My brain may not be in my head, but it still exists. It's in your hand, right? So technically, I still have one."

He reached over, casually breaking off a piece of his brain.

Then he turned and called out,

"Johnny, give me some fire. High heat."

"Huh?"

Startled, Johnny instinctively released a stream of flames.

Axel rolled the piece of brain through the fire a few times. Once it was heated, he split it in half. Blood dripped freely.

With a bright grin, he said,

"Trust me, this should taste great."

He extended half toward Cassandra.

As it got closer, Cassandra swallowed and took a small step back.

"I don't need any. You enjoy it."

She turned to leave, having already decided.

Axel might be new to the Void, but he was far more tedious than Deadpool. She enjoyed fear, pain, and desperation. Not… whatever this was.

But before she could take more than a step, Axel moved in front of her.

Without hesitation, he shoved the warm piece of brain straight into her mouth. His finger brushed along her tongue as he did.

Johnny immediately doubled over and vomited.

Cassandra's eyes widened in shock.

Axel withdrew his hand and smiled at her, almost cheerfully.

"Don't just stare. Taste it and give me feedback. It should be better than monkey brain."
