My phone buzzed, and I saw my father's name flashing across the screen.
"Hello, Dad," I answered, keeping my voice calm, though my wolf stirred lightly at the familiar warmth of his presence.
"Anastasia, your new den is ready. I'll send someone to help you move your things in two days. This is your space now you should feel comfortable, make it truly yours."
I nodded to myself, smiling faintly. "Alright, Dad. I'll pack everything and be ready in two days."
There was a pause on the line, and then his voice softened. "Anastasia… I'm sorry about what happened with Jared the other day. It wouldn't have happened if I'd been more careful."
I exhaled, steadying my instincts before speaking. "It's alright, Dad. What's done is done. Don't take it to heart."
I could feel the tension leave him through the line. Fathers, even Alpha ones in their own pack, always carried that weight of responsibility.
"Alright. When you're settled, we should share a meal together," he said.
