Elliot's voice came out rough, low, like a warning growl brushing against my senses. It sent a ripple through my chest, straight to the restless wolf beneath my skin.
"What do you mean?" he asked, his gaze locking onto mine with unsettling intensity. "Last night, you held my face… pulled me in and kissed me. Don't you think you should take responsibility for that?"
My breath caught.
Heat flooded my cheeks instantly, spreading down my neck as my wolf stirred, uneasy and exposed. I could feel it—those broken flashes from last night. Heat. Instinct. His scent wrapping around me like a claim I didn't remember agreeing to.
"Last night…" My voice trembled despite my effort to steady it. I looked away, unable to face him. "I wasn't myself. I don't remember anything."
That was all I could say. Anything else felt too dangerous to admit—even to myself.
