Elliot said the relocation of the atelier wasn't about logistics or efficiency—it was about proximity. About keeping me within his reach, within his territory, as if distance itself irritated something instinctive in him.

My face warmed under the weight of his gaze, and I tried to ground myself by tapping my fingers lightly against the teacup between us. "What's so special about seeing me?" I asked, though I already felt the answer pressing at the edges of my awareness. "Why do you want that so much?"

The question lingered in the air like a challenge to an Alpha's intent.

His eyes didn't move away from mine. "Outside of work," Elliot said quietly, voice low and absolute, "you are the most important thing to me every day since I met you."
