"Of course you aren't dreaming, Grandma," Elliot said smoothly, his voice calm with the authority of an Alpha speaking over pack channels. "Anastasia and I are officially mated."
His gaze never left me as he spoke.
I froze instantly, my face burning so hard I could barely breathe. I stood a few steps away from him, completely exposed in his office, desperately waving my hands for him to stop looking at me and to hide my presence from Harriet.
But Elliot only smiled slightly, completely unbothered by my panic.
On the other end of the line, Harriet's excitement practically shook through the speaker like an energy surge across the pack network.
"Good!" she declared happily. "Then I'll be waiting for you to make her my granddaughter-in-law properly!"
Elliot didn't hesitate. "Alright, Grandma. I'll speak with her about it."
I nearly choked.
Speak with me about it? About marriage?
