Elliot stepped closer as he spoke, his Alpha presence folding the space between us until my instincts tightened on reflex. I reacted before I could think, lifting my arms and pressing a quick kiss to his cheek—an attempt to reset distance, to keep control.
"Please take Jared to school for me. Thanks," I added quickly.
But Elliot didn't step back.
