I could feel the coldness radiating from Elliot the entire ride back from the hospital. His Alpha aura filled the SUV like a storm trapped inside metal walls, heavy enough to make my wolf restless. Even when he sat beside me in the waiting lounge outside Harriet's recovery room, the silence around him carried danger.
Still, when he looked at me, his expression softened slightly. He guided me down beside him and asked quietly, "How's Jared? Do you want to go home and check on him first?"
I shook my head. "Dad is with him. Jared's fine." Then I lowered my voice. "Did the healers figure out why your grandmother collapsed?"
Elliot's jaw tightened instantly. A dark flicker crossed his eyes before he looked away. "I'll tell you after I deal with everything."
I didn't ask further. Right now, what mattered most was Harriet waking up safely.
An hour later, the old Luna finally regained consciousness.
