Chapter 115 - The Unfinished Business, The Velvet Bed, and The Queen's Surrender

"Where were we before we were so rudely interrupted by international diplomacy?"

Aeron didn't wait for Kaia to answer the rhetorical question. The dark, predatory gleam had returned to his silver eyes, burning away the brief amusement Victoria's letter had provided.

He closed the distance between them in a single, fluid stride. Before Kaia could even draw a breath, he swept her into his arms, lifting her effortlessly against his chest. The heavy, dark navy wool of her gown pooled over his arms as he carried her away from the door and toward the massive charcoal-velvet bed in the center of the super-suite.

"I believe," Kaia breathed, her arms wrapping instinctively around his broad shoulders, "we were discussing the... structural advantages of the door."

"The door has served its purpose," Aeron murmured, his gaze locked onto hers. "But it lacks the necessary space for what I intend to do to you next."
