The sterile, heavy smell of Konoha Hospital replaced the scent of burning wood and ozone the moment the medical teams carried the injured through the emergency doors.
Sasuke was immediately separated from the group and given priority treatment. His cracked ribs required stabilization, but the more urgent threats were internal. Medics rushed to map the severe chakra-network strain caused by the forced Curse Mark activation and began the slow, delicate process of purging Sakon's foreign chakra contamination from his system.
Naruto was assigned a bed in a nearby ward, but his condition was remarkably stable. His shoulder throbbed with a dull, heavy ache, but Sakura had already removed the hardened web fragments and stopped the bleeding before the transport team had even arrived.
Hinata was seated in an adjacent examination room. She was quickly treated for Byakugan strain, the blood loss from her nose, and the lingering inner-ear vertigo caused by Tayuya's sound techniques. The attending medic confirmed she would not need prolonged hospitalization.
Kurenai stood by her student's chair, her red eyes warm with quiet pride.
"You did exactly what you were supposed to do," Kurenai told her plainly. "You sent the emergency signal, kept the enemy in sight, stopped Naruto from following their false trails, identified Sasuke inside the barrel, and found the seal's weak point under pressure. You also knew when to guide Naruto and when to fight beside him."
Naruto, sitting on the edge of his bed down the hall with his shoulder heavily wrapped, overheard the assessment and loudly agreed, his voice carrying easily through the open doors.
Hinata flushed deeply, her fingers knotting in the fabric of her jacket, but she did not duck her head or deny her contribution.
From the treatment bay across the hall, Sasuke turned his head slightly toward Naruto's voice.
"Without her, the idiot would have attacked the middle of the barrel," Sasuke added, his voice raspy but sharp.
Naruto immediately bristled, waving his good arm. "I would have figured it out eventually!"
Hinata stepped out of the examination room and looked down the hall.
"You had already formed the Rasengan," Hinata answered quietly.
Naruto opened his mouth, closed it, and slumped back against his pillows. He had absolutely no defense.
Further down the ward, Shizune stood near a supply cart, carefully reviewing Sakura's hasty field notes and examining the jagged, bloody web fragments resting in a metal tray.
She cross-referenced the poison strip result and checked the fresh bandages on Naruto's shoulder. Sakura had not widened the wound or damaged the surrounding muscle with the Chakra Scalpel. Shizune's medical scan also confirmed that no detectable web fragments remained inside the injury.
Shizune set the clipboard down and looked directly at the pink-haired genin.
"You treated an active battlefield injury while fighting continued around you," Shizune said plainly, her voice carrying the weight of professional validation. "You hesitated once, recovered your focus, and completed the procedure correctly."
Sakura stiffened slightly. She had been bracing herself for harsh criticism over that initial moment of trembling.
Shizune saw the tension and softened her tone, though her eyes remained entirely serious. "Being afraid is not the same as freezing, Sakura. Your hands shook, but you still did the work. That is what matters."
Kenji was leaning against the wall just outside the room, close enough to hear the exchange.
He looked at Sakura's hands, which were still stained faintly with Naruto's blood, and spoke up. "Not useless anymore."
Sakura immediately spun around, her green eyes flashing with anger at the blunt, insulting wording. But the sudden spike of fury was complicated by the heavy weight of the praise itself. Kenji was the one who had bought the Chakra Scalpel scroll specifically for her and placed it in her hands. He had also bluntly told her that talent meant nothing if she froze when someone was bleeding.
"I was never useless," Sakura snapped, her hands balling into fists.
Kenji tilted his head toward the open doorway where Naruto was currently complaining loudly to a nurse about how tightly his bandage was wrapped.
"Then consider this your first piece of convincing evidence," Kenji said.
Sakura desperately wanted to hit him. Her knuckles were white, but as she glared at him, she also found herself looking down at those same fists. They were the same hands Kenji had placed directly over Naruto's bleeding shoulder the moment she had ordered him to help. He had followed her medical command without a second of hesitation.
She uncurled her fingers and turned back to the supply cart, refusing to give him the satisfaction of an argument.
Across the village, deep underground, Tayuya was processed into the secure Torture and Interrogation wing.
There was no hesitation and no special treatment. She was stripped of her weapons and placed in a reinforced, separate holding cell. Heavy, specialized chakra restraints were locked tightly around her wrists and ankles. A fresh, high-level suppression tag was slapped firmly over her Curse Mark to prevent any involuntary or deliberate activation, and her wooden flute was sealed inside a localized evidence vault.
She was allowed absolutely no unsupervised visitors. Ibiki Morino took direct, personal responsibility for her custody, establishing immediately that there would be no verbal interrogation until the medical division conclusively confirmed that Orochimaru had placed no suicide triggers or explosive failsafes inside her seal.
Tayuya remained violently furious. She was actively hostile, pacing her cell like a caged animal, refusing to answer basic logistical questions, and spitting venomous insults at any guard who approached the bars.
Kenji was still at the hospital and had no involvement in her processing. For now, Tayuya belonged entirely to Konoha's Torture and Interrogation division, and the reinforced cell door closed between her and the outside world.
Later that night, the atmosphere in the Hokage's office was suffocatingly tense.
Kenji, Kakashi, Kurenai, and Shizune stood before the massive desk. Tsunade had been sitting in the same heavy chair for hours, aggressively coordinating the eastern border patrols, overseeing Tayuya's secure transfer, locking down hospital security, dispatching investigation teams to Sasuke's training ground, and analyzing the scattered pursuit reports concerning the three escaped Sound shinobi.
Kakashi delivered the final, official field summary. He confirmed the timeline: Sasuke had cleanly rejected Orochimaru's offer. The Sound Four had attacked, forcibly activated his Curse Mark through direct contact, and transported him completely against his will. Naruto and Hinata had successfully interrupted the extraction, Tayuya had been captured as the rear guard, and the other three members had escaped Konoha's immediate perimeter into a pre-trapped route.
Tsunade listened to the report with her fingers steepled beneath her chin.
When Kakashi finished, she stamped the operation file. She officially classified the incident as an organized foreign infiltration and the attempted abduction of a Konoha shinobi.
There was absolutely no discussion about punishing Sasuke.
Instead, Tsunade issued rapid, decisive orders. "I want twenty-four-hour ANBU protection around Sasuke's hospital room. Bring Karin to the hospital now and have her inspect both suppression seals under Shizune's supervision. Kakashi, review how the Curse Mark responded to external chakra pressure. Expand the southern and eastern patrols for any remaining Sound agents, and keep Tayuya isolated from every captured document and piece of evidence."
Kakashi and Kurenai bowed their heads in acknowledgment and left the office to complete their detailed written reports.
Kenji remained behind. Tsunade wanted his specific report on the exact scent Doom had retained and the structural layout of the escaped route.
The office was incredibly warm. The large windows had been closed against the night breeze, scattered lamps burned brightly across the tables, and the heat of hours of continuous, high-stress work hung heavily in the air.
After finishing Kenji's brief tracking report, Tsunade exhaled a long, exhausted breath. She pushed her chair back and stood up, deciding to visit the hospital wards personally to inspect the injured genin.
As she turned away from the desk, Kenji's attention fell entirely naturally toward her ass.
He inwardly admired the way her dark trousers stretched taut over her hips as she moved. He idly thought to himself that any responsible, tax-paying citizen of the Leaf should be allowed to clap the Hokage's ass at least once as fair payment for funding the village infrastructure.
Then, he noticed the chair.
Tsunade had been sitting on the heavy, dark cushion for hours in the stifling heat. Two faint, rounded sweat marks remained where her ass cheeks had pressed into the fabric. Near the inner curve of one damp imprint, a narrower line traced the edge of her underwear beneath the tight trousers.
The chair had preserved the shape of her ass with humiliating accuracy.
Kenji stopped breathing. He simply stared.
Shizune, gathering the scattered patrol reports from the edge of the desk, noticed exactly where his eyes were locked.
"Kenji," Shizune warned.
He did not answer.
"Kenji, stop looking at Lady Tsunade's chair like that."
A bright blue window abruptly chimed into existence directly above the damp cushion.
[Perverted Mission — Taste of Authority]
[Drag your tongue across the entire sweat imprint left by the Fifth Hokage.]
[Reward: +2,000 SP]
[Penalty: For the next twenty-four hours, any physical contact with another living being will make you moan in a high feminine voice.]
[Time Remaining: 10 Seconds]
Kenji's eyes brightened with absolute clarity.
Internally, he felt a wave of profound gratitude. System, sometimes you aren't merely a system. You're my wingman.
There was absolutely no moral hesitation. The reward was free points, the objective was physically right in front of him, and the target was magnificent.
His only real problem was that Tsunade and Shizune were both still standing in the room.
[Time Remaining: 8 Seconds]
Kenji decided in a split second that witnesses only made great historical achievements more memorable.
Without explaining himself, Kenji stepped swiftly around the side of the heavy desk and dropped smoothly into a deep crouch.
Shizune clutched her clipboard to her chest, watching him bend deliberately toward the chair.
"What are you doing?" Shizune asked, her voice rising in confusion.
Kenji gripped the padded sides of the cushion with both hands, extended his tongue, and pressed it directly against the center of the left damp cheek mark.
For one full, agonizing second, nobody reacted. Time seemed to freeze.
Shizune's mouth fell completely open. Her clipboard slipped from her fingers and clattered onto the hardwood floor.
Tsunade, hearing the noise, slowly turned around.
Kenji kept his eyes fixed on the damp outline as he began dragging his tongue slowly and deliberately toward the second cheek imprint.
That movement violently broke Tsunade's shock.
Her face turned a brilliant shade of red from the base of her neck to her forehead. Horror, humiliation, and murderous fury crashed across her expression as she realized Kenji was licking the sweat mark her ass had left on the Hokage's chair.
"YOU DISGUSTING—"
Her heel struck Kenji perfectly in the ribs before his tongue could cross the full imprint.
The chakra-enhanced kick launched him violently away from the cushion. He flew across the length of the office and smashed directly through the closed window.
The glass exploded outward in a massive shower of glittering shards into the night air.
Kenji felt the Hokage Tower disappear beneath him as gravity took hold, sending him falling rapidly toward the stone courtyard below.
The blue window followed him effortlessly through the rushing air.
[Mission Failed]
[Required imprint coverage incomplete.]
[Penalty Activated — Touch-Sensitive Maiden's Voice]
[Duration Remaining: 23:59:59]
As the wind roared in his ears, Kenji had just enough time to think one bitter thought:
The System betrayed its own wingman.
An ANBU operative stationed on the roof outside the tower saw the shadow falling through the shattered glass and immediately body-flickered upward into the night sky.
The masked operative caught Kenji firmly beneath the arms a split second before he would have hit the stone courtyard.
The moment the ANBU's hands closed tightly around his ribs, the penalty activated.
"Aahhn—!"
The loud, breathy sound tore from Kenji's throat before he could stop it.
The ANBU flinched so hard that he nearly dropped him.
Every single shinobi currently stationed in the courtyard—two gate guards, a passing patrol squad, and a messenger runner—stopped dead and looked up.
Kenji and the masked, heavily armed operative stared at each other in absolute, horrifying silence as they drifted toward the ground.
The ANBU lowered him carefully onto the stone tiles and gave his shoulder one final steadying squeeze.
"Mmh—ah!"
The smaller, higher moan was somehow even more humiliating than the first.
The ANBU released him in alarm, and Kenji immediately jumped several steps backward before anyone else could touch him.
"Nobody heard that," Kenji said, his actual voice perfectly steady.
Doom, resting comfortably near the bottom of the tower steps, lifted his massive, horned head and stared at his summoner.
One of the courtyard guards slowly lowered his spear. "Everyone heard that."
Kenji ignored the guard and pointed an accusing finger dramatically up at the shattered window of the tower.
"The Hokage just attacked a decorated hero!" Kenji shouted.
Tsunade leaned out through the broken, jagged window frame, her blonde hair whipping in the wind, her fist clenched tight enough to crack stone.
"COME BACK UP HERE AND I'LL DECORATE YOUR GRAVE!" her voice boomed over the courtyard.
Kenji wisely backed away from the tower, taking several rapid steps toward Doom.
Doom, curious about the strange noise his master was making, leaned forward and nudged Kenji's shoulder affectionately with his large, wet nose.
"Nnnh—!"
A soft, breathy moan slipped out before Kenji could bite it back.
Even the hellhound recoiled in confusion, his ears flattening against his skull.
Kenji glared at the massive beast. "You too?"
High above the courtyard, inside the ruined office, Shizune stood perfectly still, staring at the chair cushion.
One side of the faint sweat mark had been heavily smeared by Kenji's tongue. The other side remained entirely untouched.
Tsunade turned away from the cold wind of the broken window, her chest heaving, and saw exactly what her assistant was looking at.
Her face managed to become even redder.
Shizune quickly covered her mouth with both hands, her shoulders shaking as she fought a desperate, losing battle against a hysterical laugh.
"He almost made it across," Shizune squeaked into her hands.
Tsunade slowly, murderously turned her head toward her.
"Shizune."
Shizune straightened up immediately, dropping her hands, though her eyes were watering. "I said nothing."
Down in the courtyard, Kenji decided it was time to leave. He grabbed a handful of Doom's thick fur and tried climbing onto the hellhound's back.
The moment Kenji's legs closed around Doom's sides, the penalty struck again.
"Aahh—Doom!"
The high feminine cry echoed across the quiet courtyard.
Doom sat down immediately and absolutely refused to move.
