While the car window wound down, Joseph leaned in with a respectful tone, his posture straight and controlled. "Ms. Stovall, Mr. Fuller sent me to fetch you."
What a stalker.
"I told him that I'm not going!" My patience snapped as irritation rose in my chest. His name alone felt like a pull I couldn't ignore, like an unseen thread tightening around my instincts.
"Mr. Fuller sent me to fetch you," Joseph repeated, firm and unmoving.
Frustration surged. "Alright, I know. I will head there myself, okay?" I forced the words out, though they tasted bitter.
"Let me send you."

Smack! My hand struck the steering wheel, the sound echoing as pressure built inside me. I turned and snapped, "Move!"
He stepped aside without protest, waiting for me to get out of the car. His calm only made my irritation worse, but I had nowhere to direct it.
