With her hands resting lightly on her knees, the woman turned toward me after a short pause. "I'm here to submit my formal resignation, Ms. Stovall."

I looked at her in surprise. "I didn't expect you to step away from this so easily, especially after everything you've put into your work."

Mistakes happen in every pack, but leaving isn't the only way forward. It can be corrected, learned from, and left behind. I waited, watching her closely, feeling the subtle pressure of her hesitation.

"What's your reason for leaving?" I asked when she stayed silent.

"I might be getting married soon," she replied, her voice carrying a quiet reluctance. "My husband wants me to stay home and focus on the family."

Her tone made it clear she didn't fully agree with the decision. It wasn't lack of ability, but a shift in priorities shaped by expectation and bond.
