"How? He can't let go of Rebecca, and he won't grant me a clean separation either. Tell me, Macy, how am I supposed to have that kind of talk with him?" My voice came out tight, heavy with frustration that had nowhere to go. The bond between us still lingered, stubborn and sharp, making every thought of him feel too close.
"Then you end it yourself," Macy said without hesitation. "Put it on paper. Make it clear. Draw a clean line and cut ties properly. After that, neither of you has the right to step into each other's private life."
I wanted that. I truly did. But things were no longer simple enough to be solved with a single decision. I dropped into the armchair, letting the weight of it all sink into my chest, and sighed.
"I met John at the train station. He left with me for a while, just to walk me out. Then Ashton showed up at the exit. Now he believes there's something between me and John… and because of that, he refuses to agree to a divorce."
