At first I wasn't sure what he wanted, but the moment he pointed at his cheek, I understood exactly what he was after.
"We're in public," I said flatly.
The corner of his mouth curved up slow and easy. "We're mated. A goodbye kiss is hardly something to make a fuss over."
Arguing with him here, in front of everyone filtering past the car on their way in and out of the building, was not something I was willing to do right now. I leaned over and pressed a quick kiss to his cheek. That should have been the end of it. Instead, he rolled down the window and pulled me forward, kissing me properly and slowly on the lips in full and open view of anyone who bothered to look. He said "perfect" like he had been patiently waiting for exactly that kind of excuse all morning long.
I got out of the car and walked toward the entrance with my jaw tight and my cheeks warm.
