"Fatui? Strange name. But if we become captains, we might be able to access more things," Garo said.
"Three days' time. Let's split up and act separately. If all four of us become captains, we'll have a better chance of accessing core secrets," Garo continued. Although he was the strongest among them, that very fact meant he was likely to receive special attention.
The others nodded and scattered.
"Assuming nothing unexpected happens, the people who can serve as captains should be these," Shutenmaru said, pulling out a dozen names on a list and handing them to Yukiko on their way off the island.
"Garo, Spin-Spin Fruit user, suspected World Government spy. Kataru, user of a Paramecia-type Flock-Flock Fruit."
"Flock-Flock Fruit? Isn't that supposed to be a Zoan type?" Yukiko asked dubiously, glancing at Yayoi who stood nearby.
"It's a bit different. This guy can not only transform his body into crows like a normal Zoan user, but can also summon and split into crows," Shutenmaru explained. "It's a very troublesome fruit."
"How did you get this information?"
"I saw it during their chaotic battle earlier. Besides, they didn't seem to be hiding it," Shutenmaru replied. Generally speaking, even if these people wanted to hide something, they would only conceal a few key abilities. Mixing truth with falsehoods makes it easier for others to believe.
"Next are two women. The redhead is Rosuka, a Paper-Paper Fruit user. The blonde is Kurisu, a Zoan-type Cat-Cat Fruit: Leopard Model user. These four are without a doubt World Government spies."
"Then there are these others: a narwhal-type fishman named Wire, a goat-type Mink named Gureisu, a pirate named Kado with a Meditation Fruit, and a swordsman named Kurei..."
Shutenmaru listed over twenty names in succession. These were all candidates he believed could potentially become captains.
"I wonder how many of them were sent by other factions," Yukiko said, setting the list aside. Currently, the only ones they suspected were those sent by the World Government. Their demeanor simply doesn't fit in with typical pirates.
"Even if there are more, we'll find out soon enough," Shutenmaru replied with a shrug. "Three days from now, the captain selection battle will reveal everything."
Yukiko nodded, then said nothing more.
The truth was that having so many spies mixed in was actually a good thing for them. It meant their organization was attracting attention from various powers, and more importantly, it showed that their strength was being recognized.
For now, they would simply observe. The Mark of Orochi would handle the rest.
