"I haven't finished speaking yet."
Seeing that Tsushima Kagami wanted to continue, Yukinoshita Shizuku covered her ears with both hands and hurriedly walked to the other side.
Right next to Hase-dera is Kotoku-in, home to the Great Buddha of Kamakura.
This is a bronze Buddha statue modeled after the Song Dynasty style. Although it has undergone repairs, it has maintained its original form overall. Compared to those statues that have been restored by later generations until they are unrecognizable, this one is considered very fortunate.
There is actually quite a story behind the Kamakura Great Buddha.
It was originally a wooden statue, but it was destroyed along with the temple by a typhoon. Eventually, it was rebuilt as a bronze statue.
In the years that followed, the bronze statue remained unharmed, but the temple hall housing it was rebuilt time and again, only to be destroyed by typhoons time and again. In the end, everyone just gave up and stopped building the temple, leaving the Great Buddha exposed to the elements.
Ultimately, long after the Kamakura of old had been battered by wind and rain, this Great Buddha has remained to this day.
After the two finished visiting the Great Buddha and taking commemorative photos, they had lunch at a nearby restaurant. They then arrived at Kamakura Station, from where they would take the electric train to Kurihama Port in Yokosuka City, and finally catch a ferry to Hamakanaya on the opposite shore.

Having arrived at Kurihama Port, the two sat on the pier waiting for the ferry, which ran on average once an hour.
Tsushima Kagami was filming the seagulls at the pier and the various fishermen who were coming up empty-handed.
Yukinoshita Shizuku was also busy taking photos of scenery she had never seen in Tokyo or Chiba.
Tsushima Kagami recalled that not far from here was the military port of Japan's American "daddies"—the Yokosuka Naval Base.
There were even sightseeing boats here that toured the Yokosuka Naval Base.
Thinking of this, Tsushima Kagami looked at Yukinoshita Shizuku beside him again.
"Say..."
"I'm not listening."
Yukinoshita Shizuku seemed to know exactly what Tsushima Kagami was going to say and immediately covered her ears.
"It's not the scary Hachishaku-sama this time."
Yukinoshita Shizuku looked at Tsushima Kagami suspiciously.
"Then what is it?"
"A not-so-scary Hachishaku-sama."
Yukinoshita Shizuku hurriedly retreated, afraid that Tsushima Kagami would shout the story out loud so it would force its way into her ears.
Tsushima Kagami quickly followed up, smiling as he spoke.
"It really isn't scary."
"Then... then tell me."
Yukinoshita Shizuku still covered her ears, but looked at Tsushima Kagami with an expression mixed with curiosity and fear.
Tsushima Kagami smiled and said, "There is another rumor about Hachishaku-sama."
"Hachishaku-sama is actually a US soldier wearing a bathrobe (tall stature, white western dress) looking for little boys. And that 'Po... po... po...' sound is actually them speaking English: 'Boy... boy... boy...'"
After speaking, Tsushima Kagami looked toward the Yokosuka Naval Base nearby.
Yukinoshita Shizuku, still covering her ears, managed to hear the rumor Tsushima Kagami told.
She felt that it indeed wasn't as scary as the previous one.
Only then did she slowly lower her arms.
But after thinking about it carefully, she hugged her chest with both arms.
"Why do I feel like, if you think about it closely, that's even scarier than before?"

Tsushima Kagami was holding French fries bought at the pier, reaching out to feed the incoming seagulls.
At the same time, he had to battle wits with them to prevent them from snatching all the fries at once.
Yukinoshita Shizuku was in charge of holding the DV camera and recording from the side.
This was the first time for both of them to take a ferry.
Fortunately, neither of them experienced any seasickness, and it only took forty minutes to reach the opposite shore.
"I really don't know what's so worth recording about feeding seagulls."
"This is called the joy of life."
Just as he finished speaking, a seagull flew to the top of Yukinoshita Shizuku's head, preparing to snatch away her sun hat.
Yukinoshita Shizuku let out an "Ah!" and hurriedly protected her hat. Just as she was thinking of ducking into the cabin to hide, she heard a click.
Tsushima Kagami, who had been feeding the seagulls, had at some point picked up the Polaroid hanging around his neck—which they had swapped—and captured that exact moment of Yukinoshita Shizuku.
"'The Flustered Maiden and the Mean-Spirited Seagull.'"
"This might even win a Pulitzer Prize."
Tsushima Kagami held the ejected photo paper, smiling at Yukinoshita Shizuku.
"You still have the heart to laugh at me!"
Yukinoshita Shizuku stomped her foot, feeling both angry and aggrieved.
"Doesn't this make you look quite cute?"
After feeding the last of the fries, Tsushima Kagami wiped his hands, handed the photo to Yukinoshita Shizuku, and took the DV back from her hand.
The two walked into the cabin together.
From the ferry, Tsushima Kagami filmed the scenery along the way. Throughout Tokyo Bay, there were many anglers piloting boats, fishing on the sea surface.
When bored, they would even wave to the curious tourists passing by on the ferry.
"Do you like fishing too?"
Yukinoshita Shizuku asked curiously, watching Tsushima Kagami look with relish at the sea anglers along the way.
"No, I like watching the joy of their harvest when they catch something, and the unwilling frustration when they come up empty-handed."
Yukinoshita Shizuku couldn't understand.
He prefers watching other people's joy and sorrow from a distance rather than trying it himself?
"That feels like a terrible personality."
"What did you say?"
Tsushima Kagami was watching a fishing bro on a yacht opposite them reel in a horse mackerel, so he didn't hear what Yukinoshita Shizuku said.
"I didn't say anything."
Yukinoshita Shizuku said nonchalantly.
Finally, the ferry reached the opposite shore. The two went directly to Hamakanaya Station, and from there took the express train on the Uchibo Line straight to Chiba. The whole journey took about an hour.

"My name is Yukinoshita Kagami. By the time you see this sentence, I will already be dead."
Tsushima Kagami was holding the DV, recording his "last words" to himself.
"Pui pui pui! Who says such ominous things when coming home from a trip?"
Yukinoshita Shizuku, sitting beside him, kept swatting his arm.
"But I really am about to die of exhaustion."
Tsushima Kagami, sitting in his seat, was completely sprawled out.
"I feel like I never want to travel again in this life."
"? You won't go in the future?"
Yukinoshita Shizuku suddenly asked.
Tsushima Kagami tilted his head to look at Yukinoshita Shizuku.
"Why, do you want to come again next year?"
"Th... that's not it."
"I just asked because of what you said."
"Anyway, hurry up and copy me: 'Pui pui pui.'"
"Don't bring bad luck home."
"Fine, fine, fine. Pui pui pui."

Tsushima Kagami used the DV to record Yukinoshita Shizuku sleeping as she leaned against the side.
Then he turned it off and put it into his backpack.
Subsequently, he took another shot with the Polaroid. At this time, Yukinoshita Shizuku also slowly woke up.
"Are we there?"
Yukinoshita Shizuku asked groggily.
"Just arrived."
"Get ready to exit the station."
"Oh, oh, okay."
After exiting the station, the two arrived at the Chiba Station exit.
"Mother doesn't seem to have arrived yet."
"I'll call and ask."
After speaking, Yukinoshita Shizuku took out that Nokia and dialed her mother's number.
"Hello, Mother, we've arrived."
"You can't come for the time being?"
"Alright, then Kagami and I will just take the bus back ourselves."
Putting away the phone, Yukinoshita Shizuku looked at Tsushima Kagami.
"Mother said she was delayed by something and can't come to pick us up. Let's take the bus back ourselves."
"Alright."
Tsushima Kagami finished speaking and was just about to go to the bus stop to wait with Yukinoshita Shizuku.
"Hey, is that Kagami?"
At this moment, a surprised voice from behind stopped Tsushima Kagami.
The two turned around and saw Hiratsuka Shizuka, also carrying a suitcase, coming out of Chiba Station.
"So you kid are from Chiba too?"
"Why didn't you tell me sooner!"
Coming up to Tsushima Kagami, Hiratsuka Shizuka naturally draped her arm over his shoulder.
Just then, a Rolls-Royce Phantom slowly drove up to the side. An old man who looked like a butler stepped out and bowed slightly.
Hiratsuka Shizuka put her suitcase directly inside, then looked at Tsushima Kagami and Yukinoshita Shizuku.
"Is anyone coming to pick you up? If not, I'll drive you back."
