Chapter 72 - Chapter 72 Holy Ash Bug

With nowhere to go, Fuyuki decided to spend the night at a nearby inn with Ash and Misty.

The next morning, Ash and Misty prepared to leave Viridian City for Pewter City to challenge the gyms and collect badges.

Before parting, Ash and Pikachu looked at Fuyuki and Entei and couldn't help but invite,

"Fuyuki, aren't you really coming with us to Pewter City?"

Fuyuki shook his head: "No, Ash, I still have some things to do in Viridian City. I can only leave after I'm done."

He needed to go to the cemetery to pay respects to his human parents.

"Alright then." Ash was a little regretful. He recalled their reunion the previous night and scratched his head sheepishly: "I'm so sorry, it was too dark last night, I didn't recognize you right away..."

"It's okay, Ash, just remember me now." Fuyuki smiled.

"Yeah, I won't forget this time!" Ash nodded earnestly.

Misty, who was listening to their conversation, couldn't help but interject,

"Um... Fuyuki, you're not thinking of going straight to challenge the Viridian Gym, are you?"

"Viridian Gym?" Ash paused, and before Fuyuki could answer, he asked first.

Misty nodded and explained, "Yes, there's a gym in Viridian City. The gym leader is Giovanni, and he's incredibly strong, one of the best in the entire Kanto region."

"More importantly, the Viridian Gym is extremely difficult to challenge; it's not suitable for new trainers without any badges."

"Therefore, many trainers wait until they've collected all seven gym badges before challenging it, and some even give up on Viridian Gym altogether and choose to challenge other gyms."

After all, there are more than eight gyms in the Kanto region, and once you collect all eight badges, you can participate in the Indigo League. Giving up Viridian Gym and challenging other gyms is also an option.

"Oh, I see!" Ash exclaimed, then made up his mind. "In that case, I'll challenge the Viridian Gym after I collect all seven Gym Badges!"

Misty looked at Fuyuki.

Fuyuki hadn't initially considered this, as he had only intended to visit his parents' graves before leaving Viridian City.

But... Viridian Gym, Giovanni's territory.

If he challenged it as a rookie trainer without a single Gym Badge, and then sent out a max-level Entei to defeat Giovanni, wouldn't he be able to gain a large number of Shock Points directly from him?

"Thank you very much for reminding me, Misty." Fuyuki politely thanked Misty. "However, how did you know so much about this?"

Hearing this question, Misty suddenly became flustered. "No, I just heard it from someone else!"

Fuyuki smiled, without mentioning that Misty came from the Cerulean Gym.

He nodded to Ash, then turned around with Entei: "See you later, Ash."

Ash's journey continued, and ahead lay the Viridian Forest, so deep that even daytime was incredibly dark!

Meanwhile, in the ruins of the Pokémon Center in Viridian City,

Nurse Joy sat at an intact computer desk, communicating with her sister in Pewter City via computer.

"The Pokémon in Viridian City have all been safely retrieved!" Nurse Joy from Pewter City said.

"Thank you, sister! Those two and Pikachu have already headed towards Pewter City." As she spoke, a look of worry appeared on Nurse Joy's face: "But, there's the Viridian Forest ahead!"

TheViridian Forest was a paradise for Bug-type Pokémon, home to countless wild Pokémon, including many rare and precious ones. However, with opportunity comes risk; many extremely dangerous Pokémon also lurked there.

Therefore, Nurse Joy was somewhat worried.

Officer Jenny, standing nearby, smiled and comforted them, "It's alright, Viridian Forest won't be a problem for those kids."

Nurse Joy, recalling Ash and Pikachu's bravery the previous night, said with relief,

"That's true, it'll definitely be alright!"

The Viridian City cemetery is located on the east side of the city.

It's the resting place of the deceased, and also home to some Ghost-type Pokémon.

Following the clues given by Professor Oak, Fuyuki quickly found the graves of his parents.

Fuyuki knelt down and placed a bouquet of flowers in front of the tombstone.

"Mom and Dad, I'm back. Don't worry, I'm fine. Not only that, I met some really, really good Pokémon. They adopted me and raised me like their own child."

"So, please rest assured, I will definitely live a good life. Next, I want to become a trainer and travel the world with my Pokémon."

Entei silently watched over him.

After a long while, Fuyuki finally stood up and said to it, "Alright, Dad, let's go!"

"Are we going to challenge the Viridian Gym?" Entei asked.

Fuyuki nodded, "Challenging the gym isn't the goal. I want to get energy from that gym leader so I can conjure up more resources to train Squirtle and Gastly. So Dad, I'll be counting on you later!"

Although he was a trainer, he had no income and no source of income.

Fortunately, he had this cheat ability to use.

"Hmm." Entei naturally had no objections. Helping the little guy gain more energy was also a very important matter, just like when Ho-Oh took the little guy to the human world.

"But before that, we have one more thing to do." Fuyuki took off his backpack and took out the Rainbow Feathers given to him by Ho-Oh. "Dad, help me turn them into Holy Ash!"

As a Pokémon that wasn't chosen by a rookie trainer, Squirtle had several disadvantages in size and physique compared to ordinary Squirtles.

Therefore, Fuyuki planned to use Holy Ash to make up for its inherent shortcomings.

To make it easier to carry, Fuyuki specially spent 50 Shock Points to buy a large glass bottle.

"Move aside, Little One!" Entei said in a deep voice.

Fuyuki immediately took a few steps back.

Entei used its mental power to control the pile of Rainbow Feathers, transferring them to the air above the glass bottle, and then released golden-red flames from its body.

That was Ho-Oh's exclusive move, Holy Fire.

Under the burning of this Holy Fire, the Rainbow Feathers that emitted rainbow light were gradually burned into ashes, all falling into the glass bottle, filling the entire bottle to the brim.

"Done!"

Fuyuki excitedly collected the unused feathers and picked up the glass bottle.

Actually, he also sold Holy Ash in his system shop. This legendary item, containing abundant life force and capable of reviving the dead and healing all injuries, cost a whopping 500,000 Shock Points just to exchange for one.

And now… he had an almost unlimited supply.

Ho-Oh was truly too good to him! Fuyuki felt incredibly moved whenever he thought of this.

Love you, Ho-Oh!
