Aurora watched in disbelief as the child systematically emptied half the boutique.
Then Takoda gasped as though she had discovered buried treasure. "Mother!"
Before Dakota could react, the little girl had already dashed toward another display. Her small shoes clicked rapidly against the polished floor. "Look at this one!" She lifted up a ring crowned with tiny blue sapphires that sparkled beneath the boutique lights. Her eyes widened. "It looks like the night sky!"
Dakota followed after her helplessly. "My dear, we already have enough rings to start a small kingdom."
Takoda looked scandalized and not really done receiving the compensation. "There is no such thing as enough rings."
The lawyer quietly added another item to the compensation list. The manager looked as though he was considering early retirement.
Takoda had already moved on. "This one too!" She pointed at a delicate bracelet. "And this one!" A necklace. "And those!" Matching earrings.
