Fresh medication, sealed syringes, a blood pressure monitor, and several examination instruments rested neatly upon it. Both of them paused briefly when they saw Ethan awake before warm smiles appeared across their faces.
"It's good to see you awake, Mr. Ethan," the physician greeted as he approached the bed. "How are you feeling this morning?"
Ethan remained quiet for a moment, carefully considering the question. The pain coursing through his body hadn't disappeared, but compared to the unbearable agony he remembered before losing consciousness, it had become far more manageable.
"Sore," he admitted honestly.
A soft chuckle escaped the physician.
"I'd actually be worried if you told me otherwise."
