Amelia nodded with quiet satisfaction.
"Good. I brewed the medicinal herbs into a concentrated infusion first and allowed it to cool before mixing a measured amount into the broth and porridge. I also added smaller quantities to the other dishes so the medicinal taste would remain almost completely hidden. The ingredients in the food helped mask the bitterness, while the herbs themselves will encourage their bodies to relax and recover."
Kade's gaze returned to Dakota.
"And they're safe?"
"Completely. I prepared the mixture according to their conditions, so it won't cause them any harm. It should simply help ease their exhaustion, strengthen their bodies, and allow them to sleep deeply enough for the treatment to work."
Kade nodded slowly, his expression finally relaxing as he watched Dakota sleeping peacefully beside Takoda.
