"Take them to another chamber," Marcus finally ordered.
The Shadow Guards immediately stepped forward. The servants exchanged uneasy looks as they were ordered to stand, and one of them turned toward Marcus with desperation in his eyes.
"Commander, we have told you everything."
Marcus rose from his chair and looked at him. "Then you will have no problem repeating it somewhere else."
The guards escorted the servants from the chamber and led them farther along the underground corridor toward another detention room.
Marcus followed behind them, his expression becoming increasingly tense as the frustration of the investigation continued to build. He had expected resistance, but the complete lack of useful information was beginning to test even his patience.
When the door to the new chamber opened, the servants were taken inside and separated from one another so they could no longer communicate.
