Aurelia seemed to take Soren's joke seriously, though, as her guilt surfaced once again as she fidgeted nervously in place.
The poor girl still thought she was the reason behind all this, when in fact, Soren was sure that even if she didn't do anything, he would be pulled into that portal regardless, as long as it was near him.
"As I said, it wasn't your fault, Aurelia. Whoever the person behind it was, I was clearly their target. Whether you were there or not wouldn't have changed anything."
After Soren made sure that the camp was empty, he finally turned to the tall girl in front, before slightly placing her stranded hair behind her ears tenderly.
"So, you blaming yourself is just too stupid. However, I am kinda happy that you cried for me. Does that make me look bad?"
Soren wondered aloud as he slowly caressed the cheek of Aurelia, before lowering it to her chin, his breathing slowly getting deeper.
