Hiroshi gripped the Blade of the God of War. As he activated Awakening Pierce, the azure steel hummed with a low, divine frequency. He struck down with a force that felt as if it could split the very foundations of the world, aimed directly at the crown of Blade's head.
Before the giant blade even made contact, Blade felt a primal chill. The sensation of being completely shrouded by death—a feeling he had sought for centuries—flooded his entire body. He raised Unshackled to block with every ounce of his Pathstrider strength, but his ancient sword was as fragile as tofu before the divine edge.
Without a hint of resistance, the "Blade of the God of War" cleaved through both the sword and Blade himself. Blood instantly sprayed across the hall as the immortal warrior was split cleanly in two.
Kafka was momentarily stunned into silence. Last time at the Space Station, he only won against A-Ren through schemes and surprise. Could it be... he hadn't used his true strength before?
Silver Wolf stood there dazed, her handheld game console slipping from her fingers and clattering to the floor. Holy crap! Is this guy actually this strong?! Blade couldn't even last a few moves against him! I wonder how he compares to Firefly...
Hiroshi was equally shocked by the result. It actually has such power?! The weapon grew stronger with its user, meaning that now that he was a Pathstrider, its output was far beyond its original legends.
As for Blade, Hiroshi didn't worry. Sure enough, the two halves of the "Mara-struck" swordsman began to knit back together. Within moments, Blade stood back up, his body completely intact, his clothes the only thing still ruined.
"Hahahaha... Refreshing!" Blade laughed, his eyes glowing with a manic joy. "This long-lost tranquility of death... I haven't felt it in a long time! Kid, where did your weapon come from!?"
"Madam Herta made it for me," Hiroshi lied smoothly. If anything shocked people, he'd just blame Herta's genius.
"Herta!?" Blade paused. He knew of the Genius Society's power, but a weapon like this was a priceless cosmic treasure. It seems she cares for him a lot. If anything happened to this kid, she'd probably hunt us to the ends of the universe. "Can I take a look?"
Hiroshi handed over the massive azure blade. Blade reached out with trembling hands, but the moment he touched the hilt, a violent red glow erupted from the steel, blasting him backward across the room.
This was the weapon's inherent consciousness. It had rejected him. Silver Wolf, finding it interesting, tried to grab it as well, only to be sent flying. Hiroshi, prepared this time, caught her by the armpits like she was a small child.
"Th... thanks, but can you put me down? It's a bit high..." Silver Wolf muttered, her face turning a slight pink as she dangled in the air.
"Oh, okay," Hiroshi said, setting her down gently.
"Whew... this thing has quite a temper," Silver Wolf noted. "Kafka, you want a try?"
Kafka shook her head, smiling. "Forget it. I think no one but this little fellow can gain its recognition."
When it was time to rest, everyone returned to their rooms. Hiroshi threw himself onto his bed, but just as he was drifting off, his phone buzzed.
Silver Wolf: Want to play together? I'll carry you and rank us up.
Hiroshi: Okay.
Silver Wolf: Come to my room, I'll direct you.
Hiroshi: This isn't great, it's so late...
Silver Wolf: I don't even care, are you that cowardly for a guy? Don't worry! I promise I won't take advantage of you~ 😜
Hiroshi: I'm coming over right now, just you wait to be wrecked! Silver Wolf: Oh, I'm so scared. If you've got the guts, come at me head-on!? 🖕
Hiroshi took a deep breath, stood up, and walked straight out the door toward the hacker's room.
