Although the magic battery is larger and can store more power, it is not actually difficult to obtain one with even greater capacity.
However, there is a serious problem that cannot be ignored.
The infinite magic furnace is, after all, a type of perpetual motion machine. Because of this, if there is even the slightest mistake in handling it, the magic battery connected to it could potentially burst.
And if such an accident really happens, the consequences would scale with the size of the battery itself. The larger the magic battery used for storage, the more magic power it can hold—and naturally, the more destructive the explosion would be.
Judging from the output level of the magic furnace in front of them, the magic battery assigned to it would definitely not be small. If it were to explode, even a so-called nuclear explosion would seem insignificant in comparison. In the worst-case scenario, it might even be powerful enough to destroy a planet.
Of course, there is also another option. A smaller magic battery could be used instead, with the furnace repeatedly turned on and off to reduce the risk.
But this method still does not completely solve the problem. The danger remains, and on top of that, it is both troublesome and inefficient.
However, things become completely different when magic is stored in the form of magic crystals.
As long as magic power is not actively injected to trigger it and disturb its internal balance, a magic crystal is completely safe.
No matter how it is handled, even if it is smashed, it will not explode. It is no different from an ordinary crystal in that state.
At most, if the crystal is broken, it will lose part of the stored magic power. Even so, it can still be used afterward.
Furthermore, even if one crystal were to accidentally explode while being stored together with others, it would only damage nearby crystals. It would not cause a chain reaction or a large-scale explosion. This makes storage both safe and simple. The only minor drawbacks are that it takes up a bit more space and can be slightly inconvenient to transport and use.
But, coincidentally, this was not a real problem.
Xin had no shortage of storage space or efficient transportation methods.
If needed, space magic and teleportation magic could both be used.
Not to mention that in Great Tree Village, there was still a large amount of undeveloped land available. Even if space eventually became limited, expanding storage areas using a traceless expansion spell would only require a small amount of magic power.
This was also the reason why, even though production in the village had been increasing recently, no new warehouses had been built. Unless new types of items needed separate classification and storage, there was simply no need. After expanding the existing warehouses, they still were not even full.
As for transportation, that was even simpler. A teleportation array could solve the issue without much effort at all.
Once these two major problems—storage and transportation—were perfectly resolved, crystallizing and storing magic power had almost no real drawbacks left.
There was, however, another important reason.
Current magic technology was not yet fully developed. It still lacked a proper method of transmission similar to electrical circuits.
It was not impossible for Xin to further improve the safety of magic batteries or even guide the development of magic transmission technology.
However, the widespread use of magic technology required more than just ideas. It also required infrastructure, construction, and time to develop properly.
