Chapter 496 - Job Transfer

"I come."

Esdeath was the first to stand up.

Among these people, she is the one who hopes to become stronger the most. Aside from her life creed, which makes her believe that the stronger she is, the more meaningful her existence becomes, she also simply enjoys the feeling of rising beyond her limits and testing herself against stronger opponents. Sitting still and watching others move ahead has never been her nature.

Even once, she refuses to remain passive or dependent on anyone else. In her mind, if there is any chance to improve herself, she will take it without hesitation, regardless of the difficulty or risk involved. She even privately wants to surpass Noa in boxing, seeing him as both a benchmark and a challenge worth chasing, someone she can continuously measure her growth against.

"And I."

Bujima Saeko saw this and agreed.

She didn't have that much thought; she simply didn't mind becoming stronger. For her, strength was not an obsession, but a practical necessity—something that could be improved steadily without emotional burden.

If an opportunity was presented, there was no reason to refuse it. Her calm acceptance made her decision feel natural, as if she were merely choosing the next step in a routine she had long accepted. Unlike Esdeath, she was not driven by ambition or rivalry, but by quiet confidence in self-improvement. If strength could be gained, she would accept it without hesitation or overthinking.

"Then count me in."

Kanae hesitated and then stood up.

She had her own reason to become stronger. It had been a few months since she had left her previous environment and stepped into this new world, and yet she still hadn't managed to raise her strength to the target level she had set for herself.

That gap had been quietly weighing on her mind, growing into a subtle but persistent sense of urgency. She did not like falling behind expectations—especially her own. Every day that passed without progress felt like wasted time, even if she was still learning and adapting. So now, with a clear opportunity placed in front of her, she was not going to let it slip away. Her expression carried determination, even if her voice remained soft and polite.

The others did not move, just watching silently.

Hestia and Hephaestus, needless to say, had not shown any particular desire to pursue strength since arriving. Their focus had always been elsewhere, more aligned with support, guidance, and craftsmanship than direct combat. For them, strength was not the primary measure of value, and they seemed comfortable with that role.

Riveria felt that her current strength was sufficient; in any case, she rarely had the opportunity to engage in serious battles these days, and maintaining stability, knowledge, and leadership mattered more to her than pushing further into unknown limits.

The same went for Marikawa Shizuka and Minami Rika. Their roles and daily responsibilities had nothing to do with fighting, and thus the need for strength enhancement did not appeal to them in the same way it did for others. They observed quietly, neither objecting nor expressing interest.

Noa nodded, then turned around and said to Luna: "Then please help the three of them get job transfers."

"Okay, please come over here."

Although Luna was slightly surprised that Noa and the others had not undergone job changes earlier, she did not question it further. As a professional, she was used to adventurers having different schedules, priorities, and preparation stages before taking such steps.

Some came immediately after reaching a certain level, while others delayed until they felt fully ready. It was not unusual, just uncommon in her experience for such capable-looking individuals to postpone it.

After collecting the job transfer fees, she guided Noa and the others toward a quieter corner of the room. The area was intentionally separated from the main hall, with fewer people passing by, ensuring privacy and reducing interruptions.

The atmosphere there was calmer, with only a faint hum of magical energy lingering in the air. Because after changing jobs, personal information would be displayed on the visitor's card, which might involve sensitive details such as abilities, affinities, or potential class changes, it was best to avoid the attention of outsiders during the process.

Adventurers often valued discretion, especially when their growth or abilities could influence how others perceived or treated them.

Then we saw Luna taking out a magic item, a crystal ball on a shelf, which was somewhat similar to a globe.
