Chapter 7 - ARCH OF THE MERMAID BREASTS PART III

When Leviathan rose from the depths, colossal, with the dolphins surrounding him creating a pink hurricane that reached the clouds, the boat was like a drop of water in the stormy ocean.

Thunder and lightning flashed in the black sky.

LEOFWYNN VS LĪEGET & HLĀFORD

Æthelflæd let out a quiet laugh, drawing her friends' attention on the deck. Leofwynn intervened:

— What's so funny?

— Isn't it obvious, Leofwynn? They're not here for us, they must just be passing by.

— No. We came here for you. — Leviathan bellowed, approaching the boat. His head was so colossal that less than a third of it remained above the ocean, with the serpent looking down at them. — You are marked by the Demon King. I can feel his magic on the skin of all three. This old man with the three of you is probably a God as well.

— No. He's just an old man. — Leofwynn drew her sword as she addressed the colossal creature. — Say something, are you and the Demon King friends?

— Mortal enemies. We fought a few times, and, if not for him, I would be the ruler of this planet. And that is the Kraken, Hlāford, who drinks my blood and receives my powers. Praised be my name, Līeget, the Great!

The three looked at each other.

They had never heard of such beings.

— Can't you just let us pass? We are on an important mission. And we are not loyal to the Demon King. He forced these marks upon us. — Æthelflæd explained when she noticed the shadow in the water, her eyes lit up. — It's them, I can feel it, it's the mermaid breasts!

She jumped into the saltwater trying to embrace the shadow.

The old man, who moved by dragging himself, shed tears in the rain, talking to himself:

— Yes, it's them! I can smell it. Savor this vision well, Æthelflæd! They are the face of the Creator himself, proof that there is something beyond, and that this something is Benign and Perfect!

Leofwynn, who was preparing for battle, observed the murky waters. Even the giant serpent moved its head slightly, aiming at the growing shadow.

Submerged, Æthelflæd embraced the scaly skin, observing that this was a being different from what she had imagined.

A crocodile, not understanding what was happening.

Æthelflæd began to run out of air, but she was too deep.

She opened her arms.

The lightning flashes allowed a view of the marine life, with crocodiles, seaweed, sperm whales, and fish of all colors.

The alchemist gave herself over to it, when the Vulcan pulled her back up.

— Damn it, human, today's been tough. — And, back on the old man's boat, Leofwynn removed part of the bandages covering her left wrist. — The situation calls for drastic measures. Seal, release!

The fire in Leofwynn's hair no longer ceased, and she burned, on her skin and in her red-orange strands, levitating in front of the boat.

On Leviathan's face, surprise and something evil, the desire to devour that shining being, whose body created mists with the storm water upon contact with the everlasting fire.

— Leofwynn has seven seals on her body. They serve to prevent the flames from spreading. Without them, it would be impossible to approach her without burning. — Cwenburg explained, as Leofwynn lost blood from her opened wrist, forming the new sword, of fire, with her own leaking blood.

Leviathan moved back, and with telekinesis he moved the dolphins, tens of thousands of them, attacking the boat.

With the fire sword, Leofwynn melted the killer animals that approached, bathing the air in blood and pink corpses.

The carcasses piled up in the ocean, and the movement lasted for hours, with hundreds of thousands of dolphins eviscerated by Leofwynn's insurmountable defense.

— Kraken! — Leviathan's shout ordered the Kraken's attack, which as it approached the boat created gigantic waves.

In turn, Leofwynn broke the second seal, losing blood from her body that formed a luminescent shield, evaporating the waves before they hit the boat.

Now the launched dolphins exploded against the fire shield, which was twenty-six meters tall.

On the boat, after the first hours of conflict, Æthelflæd was preparing dolphin meat sashimi. The old man loved it.

— You cannot persist burning eternally, Vulcan. Time is on our side. — Thus, Leviathan sent millions of dolphins, in an attack from all directions, aiming at both the boat and the warrior Leofwynn.

With her face distorted by the effort, the Vulcan broke the next three seals simultaneously, screaming, tearing the stigmas on her feet and at her neck.

The seal of the fire armor, which was like a long dress of magma and lava, covered her entire skin.

The seal of the aura, which expanded the heat, no longer limiting it, created a mantle of fire around her and the boat.

And the seal of the flames. The weapons she now held were incandescent flames without form, moved as a conductor leads an orchestra, though her instruments were infernos.

When the last dolphin was obliterated, Leviathan leaped with his colossal body. He planned to sink everyone with such bodily opulence.

The penultimate seal was broken, the pillar of fire.

Joining sky and ocean, the pillar of fire cleaved Leviathan in half, killing him as his entrails flew around the vessel.

The Kraken attacked with its claws, each strike against the fire shield emanating deafening thunder.

— I cannot control it. Without releasing the last seal, it will be the end of all of us.

— No, Leofwynn, you are winning, you don't need more power. In fact, the last two seals weren't much use anyway. — Æthelflæd, with her mouth full of sashimi, tried to explain, but it was too late.

The last seal was broken.

The new dimension was conjured, three thousand kilometers away above the ocean, formed solely of fire.

It sucked in the Kraken and began to attract the waters, which fell upward, inverting the course of the rain, altering gravity.

Fish and crocodiles were sucked in, and like the Kraken, they burned in fire as they approached the dimensional rift.

Finally, the seals were remade, the rift disappeared instantly, and, with the water's normal course no longer levitating, the boat crashed into the sea, shattering into countless pieces.

Among the wreckage, Cwenburg was still vomiting blood, delighting in what was left of the sashimi.

Æthelflæd had saved the old man, and Leofwynn surfaced to hear from the human:

— Why the hell didn't you fight like this against the Demon King?

— He is immune to fire. — Leofwynn calmly recalled, and both were saved by Godwyna, who also took the old man.

Still in the afternoon when they returned to the beach, the old man and Godwyna went to the brothel and there they found the mermaid breasts.
