Chapter 19 - SIDE HUSTLE

UNFORTUNATELY, Woori woke up in an unfamiliar, fancy room.

So, it wasn't a dream.

I really am living with Park Seoham now.

Haaah.

Oh, well.

It was too late to regret her decision now.

Woori stretched her arms before going to the bathroom to wash her face.

It was convenient that her bedroom had its own bathroom, making her feel like the owner of the mansion.

Of course, washing her face with cold water helped her stop with her stupid delusions.

"Don't forget, Joo Woori."

Woori even pointed at her reflection in the mirror while scolding herself.

"Park Seoham is only being nice to you because he wants you to fall for him again. And once you do, he'll dump you. Don't delude yourself into thinking that you can get back together."

After giving herself a harsh pep talk, Woori started her day with a clear mind.

WOORI had just finished cooking breakfast and setting the table when Park Seoham came to the dining hall.

It seemed like he didn't have any schedule that day because he was still in his pajamas.

Plus, he still looked sleepy, even though it was already late in the morning.

"Why are you out of your pajamas already?" Park Seoham asked curiously when he took a seat. "You're going somewhere?"

"I already told you before— I have a part-time job every weekend," Woori explained while handing Park Seoham the chopsticks. "I'm going out to work."

"It's Sunday."

"Yes, I know."

"Why work on Sundays? When do you get to rest?"

"Are you worried about me?"

Park Seoham just rolled his eyes, and then he pointed at the chair across from him with a nod. "Have breakfast before you leave."

"Aww. You're letting me eat breakfast with you?"

"Do you think I'm a jerk who won't even feed his employee?"

"No, not at all," Woori said, sitting across from Park Seoham before he changed his mind. "I cooked the egg drop soup, the rolled eggs, and the steamed egg. You like having eggs for breakfast, don't you? I got a bit excited because you have plenty of ingredients in the fridge and the pantry, so I cooked a few egg dishes."

Park Seoham just nodded, and then he pulled the bowl of egg soup and steamed egg close to his side of the table.

"You don't have to force yourself to finish everything," Woori said, and then she started eating, too. In fact, she needed to hurry because she didn't want to be late for her part-time job. "Don't worry, I'll take care of the leftovers. I don't like wasting food, you know?"

"Just eat and worry about your portion."

Tsk.

He just woke up, and yet he's already grumpy.

Anyway…

Woori noticed that Park Seoham ignored the rest of the dishes on the table.

He was never picky before, though?

"Don't ignore Aunt Mira's side dishes," Woori said while gently pushing the side dishes to Park Seoham's side of the table. "And eat your rice with the egg dishes. You're not on a strict diet these days, are you?"

She knew that Park Seoham would go easy on his diet every time he was on vacation, so it should be fine for him to eat rice normally.

"Are you my stalker?"

"Huh?"

"You know so much about me— things that you wouldn't know just because we met eleven years ago."

Ouch.

It hurt a little that Park Seoham downplayed their relationship as if they were just acquaintances in the past.

But Woori ignored the pain and answered as coolly as possible.

I have to play it cool.

"Didn't I already tell you that I'm a fan?" Woori reminded Park Seoham. "I've read several articles about you and your lifestyle, so I know about your diet when you're on vacation."

Park Seoham raised an eyebrow. "Fine. You're not a stalker. But you're an obsessed fan."

This brat didn't listen to a thing I said.

"Fine, I'm an obsessed fan," Woori said because she didn't have the energy to argue with Park Seoham. "Happy now?"

Park Seoham smiled and nodded. "I hope you get more obsessed with me, Joo Woori."

"YOU DON'T have to drive me, you know?" Woori said awkwardly while sitting in the passenger seat. And, yes, Park Seoham was the one driving the car. "You could have just lent me your car. I know how to drive. You know I have a driver's license, don't you?"

Park Seoham scoffed. "I can't trust you with my car."

"Then why include driving you around when you're working in my job description?"

"Stop talking back, Joo Woori," Park Seoham said, obviously irritated. "It's not like I'm driving you straight to your part-time job. I'm only dropping you off at the bus station, so stop making a big deal out of it. I thought you wouldn't put any meaning on my behavior?"

Woori acted like she was zipping her mouth. "Okay, I get it. I'm sorry for overreacting."

"Just wait a bit."

"Wait for what?"

"I bought a car for you."

"What?"

"You need a car to move around the village, but you can't use my cars for your personal use because the reporters might spot you," Park Seoham explained. "So, I bought a compact car for you. You're tiny, so a car like that should fit you more."

Tiny?

Woori, who was 173cm tall?

I'm taller than the average Korean woman!

She had long legs, too!

"I'm not tiny…" Woori started to argue, then she shook her head when she realized it wasn't the issue right now. "You didn't have to buy me a car, Park Seoham. I know you have plenty of other cars that you don't use anymore. You could have just lent me one of those."

"My money, my rules," Park Seoham said, scoffing at Woori's complaint. "Don't worry, you'll love it— I chose your favorite color, denim blue, for your car."

Aigoo.

Woori could only sigh and shake her head.

This jerk is good at making me feel delusional…
