Once the match concluded, Ryunosuke extended a hand to help Masuzu, who was still slumped on the floor in a dazed "duck sit" position.
Masuzu hadn't quite surfaced from her post-match shock; her gaze remained hollow. It was understandable, really. Imagine being a world-renowned Yu-Gi-Oh Champion adored by the masses, only to be suddenly deconstructed by some random guy from out of nowhere. It was a bitter pill to swallow.
Ryunosuke pulled her slowly to her feet and asked if she was alright. Masuzu simply kept her head down, her face clouded with gloom, without uttering a single word.
Suddenly, as if she had forged a desperate resolve, she took a deep breath and lunged forward to grab Ryunosuke's arm. She turned to Ai and cried out:
"Give this man to me, okay? I want him as my partner for the tag-team Yu-Gi-Oh tournament!"
Ai instantly turned to stone. Even Megumi, standing beside her, wasn't spared from the fallout; she froze mid-motion. Both girls felt the exact same prickle of a looming crisis: the feeling that their man was about to be snatched away!
Without a hint of compromise, they each staked their claim on one of Ryunosuke's arms, wordlessly declaring that this man belonged to them! He was not to be stolen!
Masuzu puffed out her cheeks, and then a devious idea sparked in her mind. She proposed:
"How about we go for a second round? This time on D-Wheels, exactly like in Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's."
Ryunosuke's eyes lit up instantly. "Seriously?!"
What man doesn't dream of tearing down a track on a motorcycle while playing cards? Ryunosuke was no exception. He trembled with excitement, his body writhing with glee like Sanji. Finally, he would experience a real duel. He had long yearned for the thrill of dueling from the saddle of a bike.
Ryunosuke looked left and right, but he only saw Masuzu's white D-Wheel. There was no second vehicle. Confused, he asked, "Where is it?"
Masuzu put her hands on her hips and tilted her chin up haughtily. Moments later, a helicopter appeared overhead and lowered a red D-Wheel. It was an exact replica of Fudo Yusei's.
Masuzu's family background was clearly no joke; summoning a helicopter just to deliver a motorcycle was a trivial matter for her.
This time, Ryunosuke was genuinely shaking with emotion! With a pounding heart and tears of joy in his eyes, he ran toward the machine, looking like he wanted to lick the red paint. It wasn't an exaggeration. After all, he was a hardcore otaku; coming face-to-face with a real-life D-Wheel—especially the "Crab-Head" Yusei's model—was a deeply moving experience.
Seeing how much he adored the bike, Masuzu approached and began to set her trap.
"If you like it that much, I can give it to you. The catch is, you have to sign this 'self-sale' contract."
Masuzu produced a pre-signed contract from out of nowhere and shoved it in front of Ryunosuke. He was about to sign it out of pure reflex when Ai rushed over and cut him off.
As the "first wife," Ai gave Ryunosuke a sharp little slap, grabbed his shoulders, and shook him to bring him back to his senses.
"Can you have a little self-respect?! You're going crazy over a single D-Wheel?!"
At that moment, Ryunosuke's pupils had literally turned into the shape of red D-Wheels; there was no room for anything else.
"He's a goner..." Ai muttered weakly. Her man was hooked. What was so great about a stupid D-Wheel anyway? Was it more important than her?
Ai looked at him with a tragic expression, as if to say that if he didn't pay attention to her right now, she'd call it quits.
Ryunosuke finally snapped out of it. Faced with the agonizing choice between a D-Wheel and his first wife, he eventually grit his teeth and chose his spouse. He pulled Ai into a tight embrace, signaling that everything was fine.
Ai began to sob softly. The two of them clung to each other in a dramatic display. Masuzu, watching from the sidelines, could only shake her head.
"Is this really necessary? It's just a D-Wheel. Your acting is a bit much, you know."
Finally, Masuzu broke the silence and called for the second round. As per usual, she grabbed another deck set under the guise of the match. Ai, unsuspecting, allowed it. Ryunosuke grabbed his own deck and mounted the red D-Wheel.
Since they were dueling on D-Wheels, they naturally used the system from the Speed World era, specifically the third-generation (Synchro) decks. Masuzu herself used Jack Atlas's deck.
The two sat perched on their respective D-Wheels—red and white—like Yusei and Jack, bracing for a Duel of Destiny. They revved their engines hard and roared forward.
Field Spell: Speed World, Activate!
Ryunosuke's turn: "Draw!"
"I summon the Tuner monster: Azure Falcon!" (Azure Falcon – ATK: 800, Level 2)
"When Azure Falcon is successfully summoned, I can Special Summon one Level 4 or lower Dragon-type monster from my hand. Come forth: Stardust Dragonet!"
Ryunosuke swept his hand out, and a small dragon appeared at his left side.
(Stardust Dragonet – ATK: 1900, Level 4)
"Stardust Dragonet's effect: I can increase the level of one monster on the field by 2. I raise Azure Falcon from Level 2 to Level 4!"
"4 + 4 = 8. Is it coming?" Masuzu muttered with a serious gaze. Her hunch was correct; Ryunosuke was preparing a Synchro Summon.
"I tune the Level 4 Stardust Dragonet with the Level 4 Azure Falcon!"
The two monsters transformed into eight interlocking rings of light in the air, forming the silhouette of a massive dragon.
"Clustering prayers will become a new shining star! Become the path its light illuminates!!!"
4 + 4 = 8!
"Synchro Summon! Fly, Stardust Dragon!!!"
A beautiful, majestic white dragon soared across the sky, letting out a thunderous roar.
(Stardust Dragon – ATK: 2500, Level 8)
"Since I'm going first, I can't attack. I set two cards facedown and end my turn!"
For the record, D-Wheel rules state: except for the first turn, during each Standby Phase, your Speed Counters (SPC) automatically increase by 1. As SPC increases, the D-Wheel accelerates. SPC can also be used to draw extra cards once it reaches a certain threshold.
Ryunosuke's turn ended, and now it was Masuzu's.
"My turn, draw!"
Their speed indicators ticked up simultaneously, and the D-Wheels surged faster. Masuzu spun her white D-Wheel around, racing in reverse to face Ryunosuke head-on as she launched a fierce counterattack.
