Monday, the first day of the school week, arrived swiftly.
Once classes concluded, Ryunosuke grabbed his school bag and walked side-by-side with Suzune toward the Student Council office. Even though he was no longer the Student Council President, his aura of authority remained; as long as he desired it, Suzune would hand over that power to him at any moment.
Upon arriving at the President's office, Ryunosuke casually sat in the President's chair as if it were the most natural thing in the world. Suzune, the current President, did not have even the slightest complaint.
Hachiman, who was working in the office, could not help but feel a sense of wonder in his heart.
(Even after leaving the Student Council for a whole month, he can still sit in that chair without a shred of guilt—what a typical wealthy elite!)
Despite having officially resigned, power seemed to remain firmly in Ryunosuke's hands. Hachiman glanced toward Kushida, who served as Vice President, then toward the Secretary, Hiyori, who managed critical data and finances; they were all Ryunosuke's people.
(Even though the man is gone, power remains centralized in the hands of his women. Truly a formidable calculation...)
Hachiman could not help but feel a mixture of admiration and a hint of envy.
(How nice! I want to be popular too... even if I were noticed by just one person.)
Hachiman unconsciously thought of Honami. He knew this unrequited love would not bear fruit, but he wanted to do something for her. As the first person to shine a light on him in the midst of darkness, Honami was deeply important to him—ranked just below his younger sister, Komachi.
Asuna, who also served as a Vice President, felt relieved to see Ryunosuke return. After all, she had received 2 million Private Points as payment for helping to lighten Suzune's workload. Since Ryunosuke was back, it meant her specific task was complete, and those 2 million points were now entirely hers.
(Excellent!) Asuna clenched her small fists, feeling jubilant inside. (I finally have the money to buy the latest game console, and I can also purchase the public beta for Aincrad in the second half of this year with these 2 million points...)
Ryunosuke began handling the President's duties calmly, primarily to ease Suzune's burden. If he wanted to become the President again, he would have to wait for next year's election; this year was impossible since he had already resigned. However, serving as an additional Vice President was not an issue, as long as Suzune arranged the rotation of the position.

Time passed day by day.
Outside the school, Sayuri had discovered Ryunosuke's whereabouts: High School for Advanced Nurturing. And by chance, she happened to know Chairman Sakayanagi. Currently, she was in the Chairman's office.
Sayuri opened her folding fan, dressed in a luxurious kimono, and gazed at the man in front of her—her former crush—while smiling meaningfully.
Narumori felt uncomfortable being watched like that. When he was young, he was a teacher, and Sayuri was his student. In the past, Sayuri had pursued him, but he had chosen Arisu's mother instead.
Since Arisu's mother and Sayuri were close friends, their relationship had once been strained because they were competing for the same man. Sayuri closed her fan, rubbed the corner of her eye which produced no tears, and spoke in a tone of feigned sadness.
"You heartless man, you ignored me back then. Now I want to transfer my daughter to this school—there shouldn't be a problem, right?"
Narumori immediately wore a pained expression, his lips trembling. "I didn't ignore you back then, okay? We never even dated..."
Sayuri was not to be outdone; she covered her mouth with her fan and let out a small laugh. "Back then, for your sake, I even fought with my best friend. Shouldn't you provide some kind of compensation?"
"So... why is it me who has to provide compensation?" Despite saying so, Narumori still pulled out an enrollment form.
"By the way, why don't you let your daughter take the entrance exam herself? Why bother me? This school of mine isn't as difficult to enter as Shuchi'in Academy. As long as the exam scores are good and one has a special skill, anyone can get in."
"If I recall, your daughter is a mangaka, right? That counts as a special skill; it's just a matter of her grades. You know the standards here yourself—a score of 40 is enough for the passing threshold."
Sayuri's lip twitched violently. It was precisely because her daughter could not reach that score of 40 that she had come to plead... Who knew why Eriri, who had English blood, actually couldn't speak English? She had been quite proficient as a child; why did she lose it as she grew up? Was it because she lived in Japan for too long that she forgot her own mother tongue?
Sayuri spoke in a resigned tone, "Just don't ask too many questions; hurry up and help me process the registration."
Narumori sighed again. "I clearly don't owe you anything... why should I help you?"
Sayuri slammed both hands onto the desk. "You wasted my youth! You made me heartbroken for a whole semester to the point I didn't look for a boyfriend; shouldn't you pay for something?"
Narumori countered back, "I believe after I got together with Arisu's mother, you also got married a year later, didn't you? When did I waste your youth?"
Sayuri remained persistent, "You wasted my youth for 1 year and 3 months; you must take responsibility."
Narumori finally, with a look of resignation, pressed his stamp onto the student acceptance letter and informed the woman. "Don't lose this; I'm only helping you this once. You can use this letter to enroll anyone into High School for Advanced Nurturing."
Sayuri received it with both hands. "Thank you~" Now that the business was settled, the rest was just casual conversation.
"How is Arisu's health?" Sayuri felt concerned for the daughter of her former best friend. She remembered that Arisu's mother had also passed away due to heart disease.
Narumori's gaze dimmed slightly. "It's the same as before, not very ideal. How much longer she can hold on, I don't know myself... I give that child everything she wants so that there will be no regrets later on."
Sayuri fell silent. Back then, she had only been willing to back down after learning about her friend's health condition; otherwise, Narumori would surely have become a son-in-law of the Sawamura family. Fortunately, however, she met Eriri's father after that. They shared the same hobby—a deep love for the two-dimensional world. They also loved their daughter very much; otherwise, there was no way they would have allowed Eriri to become a doujinshi illustrator.
In fact, her husband, for the sake of supporting his daughter's career, was willing to cast aside his pride and dignity as a diplomat to accompany Eriri in selling comics. In short, Sayuri was very satisfied with her current husband.
After the conversation concluded, Sayuri prepared to leave. What needed to be done was finished; the rest was the matter of getting her daughter into the school.
