The Interview Went Well.
By Tuesday afternoon, two o'clock sharp, I was settled at home with the laptop open.
Upstairs, a crisp shirt. Down below, soft pajamas hidden out of sight. Each answer came through clearly - sharp, steady, without pause. The questions kept coming; responses followed just as fast.
Got the research approach down. Knowledge of how CBT works? Covered. Worked with people through trauma? Yes, more than once. All boxes ticked.
At closing, Dr. Patricia Hayes gave a smile. She leads the Davidson Institute. The interview had finished.
"Brooklyn, your work is impressive. Your recommendations are glowing. We'd love to have you on the team."
For a moment, I could not breathe. Was it true?
"Really. We'll send a formal offer letter by end of week. But consider this your unofficial acceptance. Welcome to the Davidson Institute."
"Thank you. Thank you so much. This is - this is incredible."
