"We're going to Decibel Festival," Ella announced on a Tuesday afternoon, not asking but declaring. "And Marcus is coming. And you're coming. And we're not thinking about men, we're not analyzing anything, we're just going to dance and drink and be alive."
Truth be told, I didn't speak up. Still, that thought of a music festival? It fit just right.
"When?" I asked.
"This weekend. I already bought tickets. Marcus is excited to finally meet you properly outside of wedding situations."
"You won't say no," Ella said with certainty. "Because you're finally at a place where you can just do something for fun without it meaning something deeper."
Turns out her point hit the mark.
