Chapter 108 - Chapter 107: Waai Fu's Challenge

Waai Fu compared their heights, then squeezed Flandre Scarlet's hand and sighed.

"Indeed, with those thin arms and legs of yours, one can tell at a glance you're not a martial artist. If I win a match against you, I'll be scolded; if I lose, it'll be even worse... It's not worth it, not worth it at all. Is there anything you're good at?"

Waai Fu felt that competing in martial arts would be bullying, so she planned to find something Flandre was good at.

"What Flandre is good at? Danmaku, flying, Magic..."

Flandre listed them off like precious treasures, but Waai Fu's face scrunched up as she listened.

"Damn, I don't know how to do any of those! Isn't there anything sports-related that you're good at?"

"Sports? Oh, Flandre recently learned how to play table tennis!" Flandre raised her hand and spoke happily.

"Table tennis? Hey, I know how to play that too! Let's go, we'll settle this with a game of table tennis!"

Waai Fu pulled Flandre along to her school nearby. As for that thief... the stolen items were recovered, and after getting beaten up, he had already been arrested by the arriving patrol officers. However, considering the Guard Department's prisons had been running out of space lately, petty crimes like this would likely result in a lecture and immediate release.

After arriving at the school, Waai Fu borrowed a pair of paddles and a ball from the PE teacher and headed to a corner of the school playground. There were five or six table tennis tables set up here.

"Let's agree beforehand, no crying when you lose later!" Waai Fu said, looking at Flandre.

Flandre scrunched up her face, put one hand on her hip, and pointed her paddle at Waai Fu. "Flandre won't cry, it's you who shouldn't cry later!"

"Very well, let's begin then! Standard rules: first to twelve points wins a set, best of five sets. How about it?"

Waai Fu decided she would soundly defeat her to show that her strength as a young athlete wasn't just talk. Then, before she could even react to her own serve, Flandre smashed the ball back. Only when the ball flew past her did she realize the skills of the girl in front of her were much higher than she had imagined.

"What, are you scared? Is Flandre too strong?" Flandre wiggled her body triumphantly.

Waai Fu refused to believe it, claiming she just hadn't warmed up yet. She crouched down and gripped her paddle tightly.

"Good, very spirited!" Flandre served the ball.

This time Waai Fu reacted and returned it. Just as she felt happy, she saw the ball bounce right in front of Flandre, who was already ready for a smash.

"Take my Super Invincible Thunderbolt Smash!" Flandre shouted, instantly smashing the ball across. Waai Fu jumped desperately, but the ball flew too high and far. Failing once again, her face began to turn red.

"Again!"

Ten seconds later, the ball landed beside Waai Fu again under her despairing gaze.

"Three to zero!" Flandre's laughter made her look unwilling to accept defeat.

"Damn it, I'm the grade's Table Tennis King! I definitely won't lose to you!"

The match quickly attracted onlookers. However, the students could all see the gap was significant. Even though Flandre held back, Waai Fu was no match. The scores for the three sets were 12:4, 15:4, and 20:6. Waai Fu suffered a crushing defeat at the hands of the Great Demon King Flandre.

She knelt to the side, pale with shock. At this time, other students stepped forward to challenge her. Flandre unhesitatingly accepted them all. Later on, even the PE teacher joined in. By the time Flandre left, she left behind a crowd of despondent opponents.

"So happy, Flandre really is the strongest!" Flandre raised both hands in a pose, showing off non-existent biceps.

"Miss Flandre. Aren't you afraid of running into danger walking around outside by yourself?" A somewhat frivolous voice came from the side.

Flandre looked over; it was Lee. He tipped the brim of his hat as a greeting.

"Why would there be danger?"

"You helped the police solve a major case in the last two days, right?" Lee waved at the dejected Waai Fu inside before looking back at Flandre.

"You're quite well-informed!" Flandre noted. The arrest operation was only last night; she didn't expect Lee to have the news already.

"Ahem, in our line of work, if you're slow to get information, you can't do anything. I've received intelligence that quite a few of the people you caught are still at large. They are planning an attack against the Guard Department, especially against those who participated. I think it's only a matter of time before they track you down. My suggestion is to stay indoors."

"There's such a good thing!" Flandre's eyes lit up.

Lee indicated that he thought she had a problem. "Flandre is very strong, I won't be afraid! But Mister Lee, you're a good person!"

"Ahem, just call me Lee," he said.

At this time, Waai Fu walked over with her ears drooping. "Uncle Lee!"

"How about it? I told you Flandre's skills were excellent. I've recorded the look of your defeat to show Hung and the others." Lee waved his phone, teasing her.

"Waaah, that's absolutely not allowed!" Waai Fu brisled and tried to grab the phone, but Lee's skills were better, and she lost again with regret.

"Lee, your skills are very interesting... Hmm, they're very similar to the techniques of Meiling, who used to guard my house," Flandre noted.

Lee almost choked. Waai Fu laughed loudly. "Uncle Lee, you usually claim to have great skills, but it turns out your level is just that of a gatekeeper, hahahaha~~"

"Ahem! What are you laughing at? Don't forget who just got beaten 20 to 6 in table tennis." Lee's counterattack made Waai Fu's face stiffen.

After playing around, Lee looked back at Flandre. "That's the news. Go back and discuss it with your sisters. If you can catch those villains in one fell swoop, it would be a good thing."

By the time Flandre reached the Guard Department, it was high noon. Walking into the Major Crimes Unit, she saw everyone exhausted.

"Sister Chen!" Flandre called out softly.

Chen Huijie looked down, dark circles under her eyes. "You should take a break. There's no need to ruin your health for these bad guys."

Hoshiguma nodded in concern. "I think Flandre is right. This is your tenth cup of coffee today."

Chen Huijie put down the file. "Alright, I'll take a break. By the way, Flandre, why did you run back here?"

Flandre recounted the meeting with Lee. Chen Huijie's finger tapped on the desk. "Mr. Lee from the Lee's Detective Agency? I've heard of him. He is right. The people from the Cult of Truth will not let this go."
