Chapter 179 - Chapter 178: The Youkai Returning to Gensokyo

Mudrock instinctively wanted to scratch her head, but realized she couldn't reach it while wearing her suit. She looked at Flandre Scarlet, who had flown over and was now leaning on her back; though the girl's eyes were crimson, they were crystal clear, like transparent rubies. At this moment, those innocent eyes were filled with curiosity.

For a moment, Mudrock was a bit at a loss for what to do. A few seconds later, she finally replied, "It's convenient for work."

"The clothes are so thick, don't you feel hot?" Flandre asked curiously.

"No." Mudrock responded patiently.

"How amazing!" Flandre exclaimed before being called back by Remilia.

"Flandre, how can you disturb someone while they're working? It's very impolite!" Remilia reached out, pulled Flandre over, and scolded her. Flandre sheepishly stuck out her tongue and then waved goodbye to Mudrock. Watching Flandre leave, Mudrock waved back in farewell.

Remilia took Flandre to find Talulah and informed her that their group would be leaving once Yukari Yakumo and Aya Shameimaru returned.

"Will Flandre be going with you as well?" Talulah looked at the little girl standing next to Remilia.

Remilia shook her head, "Flandre will stay here; I won't interfere with her actions. We are just going back to retrieve some things. After all, Ms. Yelena is still lying in bed, and we must resolve it as quickly as possible."

Hearing Remilia's words, Talulah understood. "Then I shall trouble you all."

After stepping out, Remilia looked at Flandre. "Do you really not need me to leave Sakuya here?"

Flandre shook her head. "No need, Flandre can take care of herself. Besides, there's no danger here with the Reunion Movement."

Remilia thought about it and agreed, so she didn't insist further. When they returned to the resting area, the others began packing their things. Soon, piles of items were prepared and ready.

That evening, Yukari Yakumo and Aya Shameimaru returned. By then, Patchouli had also finished drawing the teleportation array. After saying their goodbyes to Flandre, they stepped directly onto the array and vanished from the room. By the time Talulah received the news and rushed over, only Flandre was left behind.

"Your sister and the others have already left?" Talulah looked at the nearby magic circle, somewhat surprised they had departed in such a hurry.

Flandre explained that in their view, the faster they went back, the sooner they could return next time. After all, Yelena's situation was right there; arriving a day earlier meant her chance of survival would be slightly higher. Since it concerned Yelena, Talulah could only nod in agreement with this explanation.

On the other side, inside Gensokyo—

The youkai who hadn't gone already knew the situation through the television, so they were prepared. When Remilia's group returned, everyone's first gaze fell upon Yukari Yakumo, because her Gaps contained the most good stuff.

Yukari's lips curled into a smile, and she gave an elegant wave of her hand. One Gap after another appeared above several nearby containers, and various life forms were dropped out of them into the vessels. Seeing those things still alive, everyone breathed a sigh of relief. Although the Gap ability was powerful, no one could guarantee whether life from another world could safely survive the transition between realms to this world. Originally, their plan was that alive or dead didn't matter; as long as they could bring them back, with the strength of this side, analyzing them shouldn't be a problem.

Soon, these containers were sent to different locations. Eirin Yagokoro also retold what Originium actually was in her eyes. After hearing her explanation, everyone was greatly shocked. After all, they initially thought that since Terrans had studied oripathy for so long, it must have been thoroughly researched. So they never imagined that oripathy isn't actually a disease at all.

Eirin Yagokoro nodded and said, "The creator of this thing is extremely impressive. This substance called Originium can consume surrounding materials and then convert them into solid data preserved within it."

"In other words, Originium is actually a packaging program?" The one speaking was Nitori Kawashiro.

Eirin Yagokoro nodded. "Exactly. That is to say, there should actually be an unpacking program for this thing as well. However, I'm not sure if researching the Originium data would be discovered by its creator, so I haven't made a move yet."

"Then is the treatment plan you prepared to set up a firewall to block data circulation?" the other party continued to ask.

"Indeed, this is the simplest and most effective method. And it won't be detected by its creator. As long as data circulation is blocked, then given the physical constitution of those Sub-humans over there, they can expel the Originium from their bodies while their tissues regrow." Eirin Yagokoro stated the treatment plan she had envisioned.

"Regarding this, I have an immature suggestion!" Yukari Yakumo stepped forward.

"Hmm?" Everyone looked at her. This woman, Yukari, was always calculating; what she called an 'immature suggestion' was actually something she had pondered for a long time.

"While providing a perfect solution all at once is beneficial for gaining a foothold, it's not conducive to sustainable development. Therefore, my suggestion is to treat, but not to cure."

After Yukari finished speaking, the youkai present fell into deep thought. It was true that with their abilities, once a direction was found, treatment wouldn't be difficult. But if a problem that the people of Terra hadn't solved for so many years was easily discovered and solved by them, it might attract unwanted attention and be detrimental to Gensokyo's plans. If they did as Yukari suggested, it would actually fit the common knowledge of that world. Not to mention completely curing Oripathy might attract unwanted attentions form it's creator. While it is Inevitable that they will eventually have to come to blows with whatever force that's behind Terra, they still hope to delay it as much as possible. At least, until they gain more information.

Just as Eirin Yagokoro was about to say something, Yukari reminded her, "Don't forget, when the people over there use Originium Arts, they are using the Originium inside their bodies for resonance. If you cure her completely, won't she just become an ordinary person?"

Eirin Yagokoro understood Yukari's point. "I'll go back and research how to solve it... I'll probably need a week."

"Perfect, we also need some time to research other things, especially..." Everyone looked at the dark, murky mass trapped in several special containers not far away. "Demons."

A thing that almost caused a Great Youkai like Aya Shameimaru to stumble. This time, going to the north, Yukari Yakumo and Aya Shameimaru had been much more cautious. Basically, Yukari used Gaps to set traps, then Aya went to lure them in, and finally, they used a Gap to swallow the separated demons whole.

Although the youkai were usually very lazy, they all knew time was tight now, so no one slacked off; instead, they all quickly got into action.
