Chapter 3 - Chapter 3 — Confrontation in the Basement

The next day passed like any other in the city that bowed to Cassian Drakov's will — except for him, it did not pass quietly as before. Every meeting, every call, every report in the office was tinged with the memory of the banquet and the audacious omega who had dared to cross him and inject him with suppressants. Everytime he close his eyes he saw that smirk on omega's face and his fierce expression that tingled his heart.

He wanted to distract his mind from that boy's appearance who comes in front of his eyes now.

But his mind did not stay where it was supposed to.

Every report placed before him blurred after a few seconds.

Every voice that spoke in the conference room sounded distant.

Every second stretched longer than it should have.

Because no matter how much he tried to focus—

That face kept returning in front of his eyes.

The Blonde hair.

Those Blue eyes deeper than ocean and clear like sky..

That smirk on that delicate face gives aloof expression.

That fearless, mocking expression that had no place in front of him.

Every time Cassian closed his eyes, even for a moment, he saw it again.

And what unsettled him was not the act itself—

But the way that omega had looked at him.

As he was not afraid of cassian.

As if Cassian Drakov was someone he could play with.

As if he wasn't a man who could destroy him without a second thought.

Cassian's fingers tightened slightly against the armrest of his chair.

The man speaking across the table faltered mid-sentence, sensing the shift but not understanding it.

Cassian did not look at him.

"Continue."

His voice was low, steady—but something in it made the room fall colder.

The man swallowed and obeyed.

Cassian listened.

But nothing stayed.

Because again—

That voice echoed in his head.

"Control yourself old man."

His jaw tightened.

He opened his eyes slowly.

He thought ' let this old man find you and teach you how to talk with elders

And this time, he did not let them close again.

By afternoon, irritation had begun to creep under his skin.

It was unfamiliar and unwelcome to his nature.

Cassian did not lose his cool

He did not dwell on anyone.

Yet here he was—

Thinking about someone who had walked away from him like a cool Breeze of early summer.

That omega did not fade.

He stayed like something lodged deep in cassian's mind.

Refusing to be removed.

By evening, Cassian's patience had reached its limit. He did not summon security or issue vague orders. He went himself to the culprit who rigged his wine to ease his frustration and distract his mind from that omega.

The city had dimmed into evening when Cassian Drakov arrived at his own bar one of the best places in the country with his friend Rick who helped in his investigation, Rick personally came because he felt a guilt about what happened at the banquet.

Rick stepped out from the other side, shutting the door harder than necessary.

"I'm coming with you."

Cassian didn't respond.

Rick followed anyway.

Behind them, Elena moved without a sound.

On the surface, it was unremarkable, a quiet façade of polished wood and low lights. But beneath it, in a shadowed basement, waited the omega who had dared to sabotage him.

Rick and Elena followed silently but they know that thunder is rolling and the storm has come.

He walked straight through the space, past the bar, past the staff, toward the restricted door at the back.

Rick followed closely.

Elena behind him.

The moment the door opened—

The atmosphere shifted.

The air grew heavier and the temperature got down by 3 degrees.

The basement door creaked open, revealing a dimly lit room. The smell of alcohol lingered faintly, mingling with the metallic tang of fear.

In the center of the room, tied to a sturdy chair, was the omega who was guarded by guards beside him

His little body trembled violently, head lowered, hands straining against the ropes that held him. Every subtle movement betrayed his terror.

Cassian's boots echoed on the concrete floor as he stepped closer. His presence filled the basement immediately. The alpha scent radiated from him like a tidal wave, brushing against the omega's senses even before a word was spoken.

The omega's eyes shot up, wide with panic.

"Sir-Master Drakov…" he stammered, voice cracking. "I… I—"

Cassian did not answer immediately. He circled slowly, deliberately, like a predator inspecting its prey. Every step was step on this prey's life. The omega flinched with each movement, but Cassian ignored it. He did not raise his hand. He did not shout. He simply existed — and that was punishment enough.

"You drugged me," Cassian said finally, his voice low, smooth, deadly calm. "In my own banquet. Do you understand what you've done?"

The omega's trembling intensified.

"I… I didn't mean… it… I—"

Cassian's eyes narrowed, sharp as blades.

The omega's breathing became uneven. He said again

"I—I didn't mean—"

"Didn't mean?"

Cassian took one step closer.

The omega shrank back as far as the ropes allowed.

"You didn't mean to tamper with my drink?"

Another step.

"You didn't mean to run away as soon as your job done?"

Another.

"You didn't mean to mess with me?"

The omega shook his head frantically, tears forming in his eyes.

"No—no—I was told—I—"

Cassian stopped and chuckled.

"Told?"

The word settled heavily in the air.

The omega froze.

Realization hit him too late.

"I—no—I didn't—"

Cassian stared at him.

Long enough for the silence to stretch.

He said " you're fast to sell your aquintance"

He lose his interest after this expected confession.

Then—

Cassian looked away.

It didn't matter.

Whoever had sent him would be dealt with later.

Right now—

This one had already sealed his fate.

Cassian leaned down slightly.

Close enough for the omega to feel the weight of him.

To feel the pressure that made breathing difficult.

"You were told right so I'll let you go to them back ."

The words were quiet.

But they carried something far worse than anger.

"enjoy your time here with these guards"

The omega's lips trembled.

"I'm sorry—please— spare me-- I won't do that again."

Rick stood behind him, still tense but keeping his hands to himself. Elena's presence was near the door, silent and watchful, prepared to intervene if necessary if things go out of extent.

Cassian leaned closer to the trembling omega, and even tied to the chair, the alpha presence was overwhelming. The omega shivered, his head dipping lower. The subtle scent of fear clung to him, mixing with the faint remnants of the suppressant from the banquet.

"You will pay the price for what you've done so pray that your master come and save you otherwise ," Cassian said quietly, his voice like ice wrapped around fire. "And anyone who tries to cross me, will learn that there is no escape. There is no mercy."

The omega whimpered, body shaking, realizing the full weight of the alpha standing before him.

He stammered in fear " sir please have mercy please spare me i won't do that again

Cassian straightened, taking a slow step back. He already lose interest in this omega.

"Elena," he said, voice still calm but carrying lethal authority, "ensure this one understands the consequences. Make it clear — he cannot live freely after this."

Elena nodded, stepping forward, her movements sqift. Rick glanced at her, eyes wary, but said nothing.

The omega's gaze flicked nervously between the three of them, realizing in full that Cassian's mercy did not exist — not for someone who had dared to touch him.

Cassian's eyes lingered on the omega one last moment before he turned, signaling Rick silently.

"Prepare him for containment. I want no chance for this… insolence to happen again."

The basement fell silent except for the faint shuffle of the guards taking the omega away.

Cassian remained standing for a long moment, absorbing the tension of the encounter, his control absolute once more.

But even as the omega was removed, bound and trembling, Cassian's thoughts wandered briefly — to the blonde omega, the one who had tested him openly in front of everyone yesterday. That omega had left the banquet freely, untouched, unafraid, teasing him frankly and challenging him in ways that no other could even imagine to do.

And in Cassian Drakov's mind, that one thought lingered longer than any anger or retribution.

A spark had been lit — subtle, dangerous, and intoxicating.

Rick finally opened his mouth " you won't get married or have a partner if you always act like a delinquent even though you are. This omega is mere pawn of someone's hand why bother to go that extent". Cassian walked forward leaving behind a remark " marriage is nothing but another useless path and a partner is just a tool for having a child and about this omega he had the guts to rigged my drink so he should have the gut to pay the consequences now.".

Rick shouted "with this attitude now, you will regret one day."
