Chapter 6 - Convergence At Grave

Silence had settled with the night.

Canora stood in the graveyard, her eyes fixed on the gravestone.

The place wasn't empty—

but it felt like it had forgotten sound.

For a moment, nothing moved.

Then she realized—

she wasn't alone.

Canora turned slowly.

Her voice trembled.

"Who's there…?"

She paused, then repeated, softer this time—

"Who's there?"

The silence didn't break immediately.

Then—

dry leaves cracked under a careful step.

The sound felt too deliberate to ignore.

Canora's breath halted.

It wasn't random.

Someone was walking.

Fear rose before she could stop it.

"Who's there?!" she shouted.

A figure stepped closer.

"Don't scream," a voice said, low and steady.

"People might misunderstand."

He moved into the faint light.

"I'm Arjun."

Canora looked at him and turned on the torch of her phone.

Arjun stepped into the light.

Dark hair fell slightly over his forehead, and a short beard softened the sharpness of his face.

He didn't look tense.

Just… calm.

The calm felt out of place.

Canora stepped forward, her grip tightening around the phone.

Her eyes locked onto him.

"You moron," she said.

Arjun lowered his gaze slightly.

"I didn't expect you to come," he said.

"Not to the grave… not because of my message."

Canora didn't reply.

Her eyes shifted to Krishna's gravestone.

Something about the moment felt unfinished.

---

Krishna stood in front of her.

She hesitated.

Then, before she could stop herself, she reached forward and grabbed his hand.

Krishna noticed the faint blush on her face and smiled.

"Why are you blushing?" he asked.

Canora froze.

"I… it's nothing…"

She covered her face with her fingers, trying to hide it.

The moment felt too fragile to hold.

"I… wanted to tell you something…"

---

Krishna's room.

The conversation had drifted somewhere light.

Something about couples.

Canora sat across from him, quieter than usual.

She looked at him—then away.

"Krishna, I…"

Her voice faltered.

"I think I—"

The door opened.

"Hey, I brought snacks—"

Dev stepped inside, unaware.

The moment broke.

Some words never survive interruption.

Canora froze.

The words disappeared before they could exist.

She stood up abruptly.

"I should go."

She didn't wait for a reply.

---

Arjun's voice pulled her back.

"Canora…?"

She blinked.

The graveyard returned.

Arjun stood in front of her, watching.

"You alright?" he asked.

Before she could respond, her phone rang.

The sound cut through everything.

She glanced at the screen.

"Wait," she said quietly.

She answered the call.

"Hello…?"

Her expression changed.

The color drained from her face.

The words on the other side didn't need to be complete.

The phone slipped from her hand.

It hit the ground.

Canora stepped back—

shock freezing her in place.

"What happened?" Arjun asked.

Canora didn't answer.

She bent down, picked up her phone with trembling hands.

For a moment, she looked at Krishna's gravestone.

Some things were breaking faster than she could understand.

Then she turned—

and walked away without a word.

As she disappeared into the distance, Arjun's voice followed—

"If you need help… tell me."

A brief pause.

"Let me know when you reach home."

Silence returned.

Arjun turned toward the gravestone.

His eyes settled on the name.

"Krishna… Samaran."

The silence felt heavier than before.
