Chapter 109 - Picking Up Two Little Cubs

"Oil—oil~!"

Rufflet proudly dropped several massive honeycombs in front of Peter, then hopped into a strange celebratory dance.

[Sweet Honey]

A rich, fragrant honey that strongly attracts Pokémon. Pokéblocks created from this ingredient significantly increase friendship.

The rest of the team gathered around Peter, all wearing shy yet "we totally did nothing wrong" smiles.

Peter stared silently at the scratches and bite marks scattered across their bodies.

Then his gaze shifted—

To the two tiny Teddiursa.

They couldn't have been hatched long ago. Their eyes were crystal clear, innocent. One of them even stretched out a little paw toward Peter, asking to be picked up.

"…Let me get this straight."

"You committed organized theft."

"Got chased across half the forest."

"And kidnapped babies in the process?!"

No wonder the entire Ursaring clan—young, old, and furious—had mobilized.

Chasing them for three streets would've been merciful.

The two brown cubs toddled toward the honeycombs. Tiny paws dipped into golden syrup before stuffing it into their mouths.

"Bine~"

Their crescent moon marks gleamed adorably.

-----

In the distance, the Ursaring retreated under Garchomp's overwhelming pressure.

Peter blinked and shouted:

"Hey! You forgot your kids—!"

No response.

They left without looking back.

As if they had made a firm decision.

Cynthia walked over, a faint smile playing at her lips.

"Looks like you'll be playing dad for a while."

Peter sighed.

"These guys… what kind of chaos did they cause this time…"

He glanced at the system panel—over a hundred extra talent points gained.

Silently, he mourned for the wild Pokémon victimized overnight.

"You're lucky," Cynthia said.

"They all want to grow stronger."

Peter nodded, smiling.

"One day, I'll stand at the peak with them."

And just like that—

Peter's team gained two milk-drinking cubs.

Thankfully, Indeedee was practically born to babysit. Give her two bottles and she could entertain both cubs all day.

Of course, Peter had plans.

He needed a second team anyway.

Teddiursa's final evolution—Ursaluna—was an absolute physical powerhouse.

Guts + Facade + Flame Orb was a meta staple.

And Ground-type Ursaluna perfectly patched his Fire and Electric coverage blind spots.

Peter studied the female cub thoughtfully.

"High Special Attack potential though… a bit awkward for Ursaluna's usual role."

"Maybe I could give her to Whitney…"

Whitney adored both cute and muscle-type Pokémon. A family line that evolved from adorable cub to ferocious beast? She'd love it.

…..

[Ding! Teddiursa's final evolution can transform into 'Bloodmoon Form' — Role: Slow Special Tank.]

Peter froze.

"Bloodmoon Form?"

He suddenly remembered the trailer he had seen before transmigrating—

That strange Ursaluna variant.

"…Perfect."

"Then she'll be Whitney's surprise."

Because both cubs were still in their imprinting phase—"whoever feeds me is mom"—Peter easily caught the male one.

The inherited moves alone made him drool.

Talent could be fixed with the system.

Movesets like that? Priceless.

-----

On the Way to Eterna City

With Garchomp flying overhead, the journey east felt almost too peaceful.

Wild Pokémon avoided them entirely.

Peter, not one to waste time, initiated a ten-pull.

[Ten-Pull Results]

Rare Candy ×5

TM: Toxic

TM: Protect

TM: Rain Dance

TM: Sunny Day

Held Item: Muscle Band

[Muscle Band]

Boosts physical attack by 10% when held.

Excellent pull.

Toxic, Protect, and weather control were universally valuable.

Peter immediately purchased additional copies in the system shop and distributed them.

Only regret—

Toxic had been nerfed in later generations.

Pokémon like Indeedee and Arboliva—introduced in newer eras—couldn't learn it.

Otherwise, defensive Arboliva with Toxic would've been terrifying.

He calculated expenses.

Seven Pokémon receiving standard TMs.

Plus Rufflet's Substitute.

Plus Teddiursa's Fire Punch, Thunder Punch, Ice Punch, Dig, Facade…

Five million Poké Dollars.

"Money really burns fast…"

Still, the system's TM usage was superior to market discs. Once learned, Pokémon could use the move effectively in battle—not clunky or incomplete.

"Too bad TMs aren't rare. Otherwise, I'd start a business."

In this world, most Trainers weren't overly profit-driven. Teaching moves was common courtesy.

Peter shook his head.

Soon—

Garchomp descended toward the eastern plaza of Eterna City.

An open square filled with ancient ruins.

At the center stood a towering stone monument.

Carved into it—

Two majestic dragon-like Pokémon, heads raised proudly, facing one another.

Peter gazed at the monument.

Dialga.

Palkia.

Time.

Space.

His journey was only just beginning—

And already, destiny was moving quietly behind the scenes.

Somewhere far away, Lucian sneezed again.

"…I swear something big is coming."
