With a burst of speed Hermi hadn't thought humanly possible, Cassian crossed the long hallway in the matter of seconds. On his final stride, he launched himself into the air, clearing a distance three times the length of Hermi's body, before spinning into a devastating kick aimed straight at the light-haired archer by the column.
The violence of the impact was absolute. The man was thrown back into his two companions, sending all three sprawling across the stone floor in a tangled heap of limbs. One by one they began to groan, clutching shattered shoulders and bruised ribs, their bodies folded in agony.
Still on the ground, Hermi stared up at Cassian's looming presence, her eyes wide. A treacherous mix of gratitude and relief coursed through her, no matter how much she loathed the feeling.
"Y-Your Majesty..." Dante wheezed, struggling to lift his gaze to meet his King's. His face was a pained mosaic of both defiance and desperate pleading.
