"Leo Lin is leading all of Liverpool in reverse pressing!"
"Is he trying to disrupt Manchester City's system this way?"
On the touchline, Guardiola stared intently at the sprinting Leo Lin, worried he might throw City's structure into chaos.
But when he saw that Leo Lin was targeting the ball-carrying defender, Guardiola relaxed slightly.
He knew this kind of impact could only offer temporary disruption. It wasn't a fundamental solution.
But for Liverpool, temporary relief was exactly what they needed.
Leo Lin pressed the defender relentlessly.
Gradually, Liverpool's movement in the final third grew sharper and more aggressive.
The wide players tucked into central areas, cutting off Manchester City's midfield routes forward.
Klopp stacked heavy numbers through the middle, locking it down like a tightened core.
35th minute!
"Quick, sharp short passes—Manchester City's trademark."
Ederson played it short to Stones.
Bang! Stones switched play with a sweeping diagonal to the left.
Leo Lin didn't dive in recklessly. He stayed close to Stones, shuffling in tight steps, reading the direction of City's attack.
With Kyle Walker tucking in as a center back, the entire right flank was handed over to Sterling.
Sterling dropped deep to receive, cut inside, then slipped a diagonal pass to David Silva.
Silva controlled with a silky half-turn, spinning smoothly before disguising a pass into De Bruyne. City broke through again!
De Bruyne took one touch and slid a through ball into the box. Aguero's clever movement found space—he collected it inside the area!
He shaped and shot!
"BANG!!!"
A collective gasp exploded around the stadium.
"Oh!!!"
"It smashes off the post and goes out! Aguero misses a golden opportunity!"
"That kind of ferocious strike is Aguero's trademark!"
"Most strikers wouldn't generate that level of quality—but Aguero can!"
"Liverpool's targeted defending is starting to show results. To some extent, they've restricted Manchester City's center back-driven system."
"But clearly, the root of the problem hasn't been solved. City can still carve out chances in tight spaces."
Still, Liverpool had at least found a way to contain them somewhat. They began searching for counterattacking space, opening up and preparing to trade blows.
For over thirty minutes, Leo Lin had been watching closely, barely blinking. Now he was almost certain—he knew how to tear through City's midfield.
The broadcast cameras occasionally cut to the young midfielder. So far, he hadn't produced anything decisive, even looking slightly lost at times in the center.
"That's understandable. Facing a trio of David Silva, De Bruyne, and Fernandinho, any young midfielder would struggle."
"This is arguably the strongest midfield trio in the Premier League right now. Manchester City's newly unleashed system is bound to catch Leo Lin off guard."
The commentary had barely finished when Lovren launched a long ball from the back.
Leo Lin made a sharp reverse run, gliding into space, and flicked the ball on with a delicate header!
In an instant, he created a perfect one-on-one down the flank for Mané against Manchester City's right-back!
Mané was clever. He didn't attempt to dribble past immediately, nor did he pass back. Instead, he calmly carried the ball forward.
The full-back couldn't rush in—step too early and he'd be beaten—but he also couldn't allow Mané to advance freely forever.
Exploiting that hesitation, Mané pushed forward a few more meters before suddenly laying it off to Leo Lin!
Manchester City's midfield hadn't even reacted. Fernandinho's attention was fixed on Mané, waiting to cover the full-back. In doing so, he completely abandoned his own defensive position!
"Manchester City's midfielders are all out of position! Leo Lin on the ball!"
"Driving at the back line—Otamendi steps up!"
"One-on-one!"
Facing Otamendi, Leo Lin feinted a drive forward, dropped his shoulder, then dragged the ball sharply to the right.
A beautiful diagonal escape!
He raised his leg, his entire body screaming that a shot was coming. Not just Otamendi—even Guardiola believed he was about to fire.
"Don't let him shoot! Don't let him shoot!"
City players shouted from all around.
"Close him down! Don't give him the shot!"
Otamendi immediately lunged to block.
The next second, Leo Lin nudged the ball again.
No shot.
Instead, he kept dribbling.
The right foot that seemed ready to strike gently rolled the ball onward, adjusting step by step—slipping completely past Otamendi!
And then, after beating him cleanly, Leo Lin finally pulled the trigger!
"BANG!!!"
A savage strike inside the box!
With a Strength stat over 90, boosted by the Riser Howitzer skill, the power fused into one unstoppable blast!
Forget Ederson—even if you merged peak Yashin, peak Buffon, and peak David Seaman into a single ultimate goalkeeper, they still wouldn't save that!
"GOAL!!!"
"Brilliant!!!!"
"Pure individual brilliance! That goal is the perfect display of Lin's ability!"
"That's how you finish! Every chance should be taken like that!"
"He beat the experienced Otamendi first—then chose to shoot!"
"I thought the first motion was real—turns out it was a feint!"
All the commentators were on their feet.
"Liverpool have equalized! It's 1–1 just before halftime!"
"They'll head into the second half level!"
Leo Lin sprinted toward the sideline and launched into a passionate knee slide. Behind him, Liverpool's players followed suit, recreating the signature double-bar celebration!
Anfield erupted. Liverpool fans roared Leo Lin's name at full volume.
Some clutched their heads in disbelief. Others raised their hands in reverence.
"Lin!!!"
"Lin!!!"
"Lin!!!"
...
Jon Champion stared at the replay, his voice thick with astonishment.
"This is not an ordinary goal!"
"Even a top striker inside the box wouldn't have shown that level of patience."
"Most forwards would have shot at the first opening—straight into Otamendi—and wasted it."
"But in a split second, Leo Lin made the perfect choice and finished it!"
"We always say don't hesitate when the chance comes—but you can't rush either!"
"This wasn't just a goal—it was the kind of goal I dreamed about as a kid!"
"All the goalkeepers who've faced Leo Lin could probably hold a tea gathering together. I'm sure they'd have plenty of grievances to share."
"The goalkeeper suffers—but he doesn't speak."
