Chapter 149 - Chapter 149 A Gift Left by My Future Self?

Chapter 149 A Gift Left by My Future Self?

Jiang Nian and Qian Renxue exchanged a glance, their heads flashing with huge question marks.

Thirty thousand years?

Had they encountered a madman?

Qian Renxue, who had grown up with Jiang Nian, breathed a sigh of relief. She had genuinely thought they knew each other.

Turns out, she had only scared herself.

The woman in white robes brushed a strand of hair behind her ear and chuckled softly, "Brother Jiang Nian, there are things you left behind in the temple. You'll understand in a moment."

"By the way, my name is Qingyu. You used to always call me Xiao Qing."

A hint of reminiscence flashed in her eyes.

Her fair fingers touched the ponytail behind her head, a smile appearing on her cool face. Then she raised her palm, and the scene before them shifted. Behind her, an ancient temple appeared out of thin air.

The girl gracefully turned around and glanced back at Jiang Nian.

A moment later, he took a step forward.

Seeing this, Qian Renxue grabbed the boy's arm, pouting and saying irritably, "Xiao Jiang, that woman doesn't look normal at all!"

"Don't be fooled by her!"

The blond-haired boy was exasperated, gently tapping his head, his eyes constantly widening with wariness.

"Let's go in and take a look. I don't think there's any danger."

"That woman... Qingyu, she shouldn't mean us any harm."

Jiang Nian hesitated, looking at the Green Snake Temple before him. There was a statue on the temple, a man and a woman holding an umbrella.

Although neither had a face, the umbrella was perfectly shaped like his own martial spirit.

This was rather intriguing.

"Idiot! I think she... never mind, let's go, let's go." The blond-haired boy snorted, grabbing his arm and walking inside.

When they encountered the woman, he didn't forget to raise his neck and glare at her.

Jiang Nian pretended not to see anything and distanced himself slightly from Xiao Qing.

Soon, they arrived at an altar.

The girl named Qing Yu stood in the center of the altar and said softly, "Here's something that can help you... Oh, and this diary..."

She took a box from a nearby bookshelf.

The box was clean, clearly frequently wiped.

Qing Yu stepped forward and handed the box to Jiang Nian.

After doing this, she gave him a deep look, then turned and walked towards the side hall.

She said nothing, leaving only an unreadable expression.

Qian Renxue leaned closer, stroking her chin, still feeling somewhat incredulous.

A diary spanning 30,000 years?

This seemed rather absurd.

Jiang Nian gently opened it, revealing a notebook inside.

After handing the box to the little golden retriever, he gently turned to the first page.

[Thirty thousand years from now, I first want to apologize to you... A priceless treasure that was meant for you when you were born into this timeline was taken by me. But don't be discouraged, I've left you a backup plan...]

Page two, page three, page four...

Half an hour later, Jiang Nian finished reading all the diaries.

While digesting the knowledge, his mind was a little dazed.

The little golden retriever stood on tiptoe, looking left and right, his eyes filled with deep confusion.

"Little Jiang, why are you staring at a notebook with no words for so long?"

"Or is it that only you can see it?"

Jiang Nian snapped out of his reverie, closed the diary, and put it into his storage soul tool. He turned his head and smiled: "Hmm, that should be it."

Qian Renxue pouted and asked curiously: "Hey! Did you write this?"

"No... When I met you, you were still very small, not even as tall as me."

Jiang Nian rubbed her head, indicating that he would explain later, as he had something very important to do now.

All his previous confusion was now resolved, and even the path ahead seemed clearer.

Jiang Nian looked at the girl praying in the side hall.

"Miss Qingyu, could you please take care of the person beside me..."

"Girlfriend!" The blond-haired girl glared at him, turning her head away angrily.

Was there any need to hesitate?!

He made another deep note in his notebook.

"Um... thank you." Jiang Nian smiled awkwardly, meeting the eyes of the girl in white robes, only to realize that her clothes were somewhat similar to his own.

"It's my pleasure." Qingyu smiled gently, turning her eyes to look at Qian Renxue.

"Tch, I don't need her to take care of me." The blond-haired girl pouted, then realized something, suddenly looking up at the boy's eyes: "You... what are you going to do?"

"I have to leave for a bit, I'll be back."

Jiang Nian said calmly, casually taking a drop of blood from his fingertip and dripping it onto the center of the altar.

Rumble!

An opening had appeared on the altar for some unknown reason. From above, it appeared as a layer of silver light, seemingly concealing a hidden world within.

"Xiao Jiang!" Qian Renxue grabbed his arm, her heart pounding with panic. After a few seconds of hesitation, she released his grip. "Explain yourself clearly. What is it all about?"

"And is it dangerous?"

"When will you be back?"

Jiang Nian fell silent, turning back to gently embrace the girl's delicate body. He whispered in her ear, "Soon, trust me."

"How about you wait for me here? I promise nothing dangerous will happen."

Qian Renxue's face lacked its usual vibrant spirit; her eyes were eerily calm, as if suppressing some emotion.

A thousand words were condensed into a single, soft "Mm."

She smiled, her voice gentler than ever before.

"I'll wait for you to come back."

Jiang Nian kissed the little golden retriever's head, then turned and jumped off the altar.

Whoosh!

His figure vanished.

Only the two of them remained in the entire temple.

Qing Yu's eyes flickered with complex emotions, her vertical pupils flashing. She pursed her lips, remaining silent.

Qian Renxue sat there silently, staring blankly at the spot where Jiang Nian had left, her lips barely moving.

"You won't let me go... so I'll wait for you here."

Qingyu, watching the shimmering golden hair of Qian Renxue, also sat cross-legged on the ground, lost in thought, her mind drifting back to events from a very distant era.

The two women were quiet, neither arguing nor making a fuss, ignoring each other.

Meanwhile, Jiang Nian, his head spinning, regained his senses. He looked at the small island before him and stepped onto it.

All around was ocean; there was no land in sight.

After a few steps, the island suddenly shook.

In the blink of an eye, a silver spirit rose from the sea.

"Long time no see... oh no, in this era, we don't even know each other..."

Jiang Nian looked up at the silver spirit, his mind momentarily blank.

"Use your Martial Soul! I've waited for this day for a long time."

"If you don't appear soon, perhaps my consciousness will completely dissipate..."

With that, the wisp of spirit surrounded Jiang Nian's sixth spirit ring.

Crack! Crack! Crack!

The black spirit ring shattered, and a silver-gold spirit ring appeared in its place.
