The question had just settled when Selene's attention snapped toward the glass behind them.
Lucian turned at the same moment.
The window gave way without warning.
The impact didn't explode through the room, but it didn't need to. The break was clean, controlled, and followed immediately by movement. A figure crossed through the opening without hesitation, landing inside with enough precision to show he hadn't come to test anything.
He had come with a target.

Lucian moved first.
He closed the distance before the attacker could take a second step, his strike landing fast and direct, aimed to end the exchange before it could develop. The force should have been enough to break momentum completely.
It wasn't.
The man took it, shifted through the impact, and drove forward instead of back. His focus never moved away from Julian, even with Lucian in front of him.
