Panic surged through her as something clicked in her mind. She shot out of bed, rushing toward her suitcase. Her hands trembled as she dug through layers of clothes until she finally found her phone buried beneath them.
It was off.
She powered it on, the screen lighting up in the dim room. After unlocking it, her fingers moved quickly as she typed out a message to Damien.
Damien, how is everyone? I'm okay.
Tell everyone not to worry about me. I reached the North pack a few hours ago. I was exhausted and fell asleep immediately. I just woke up, so I'm texting you now.
Take care of everyone, and please don't stress yourselves over me. I'm completely fine.
She hit send, watching as the message delivered.
Not waiting for a reply, she powered the phone off again. She knew Damien he would call the moment he saw it, and she wouldn't be able to hold herself together if she heard his voice.
