His tone was calm, almost indifferent, as he released her arm the second they stepped into the kitchen.
Charlotte only stared at him, stunned into silence. So that was why he had brought her here to his pack. Not as anything more… but as a servant.
A protest burned in her throat, a desperate no clawing to break free, but the look on his face froze it in place. He was too dangerous, too imposing. Instinct told her to retreat instead, to leave without a word but the thought barely formed before he extended his arm, blocking her path.
