Li Xin continued walking along the village's dirt road. He turned left at the first intersection, and his eyes soon spotted a two-story house located within a residential compound.
The place was not large. It was rather small, with only three buildings inside the compound. The villagers said that the village chief's family lived there.
Li Xin raised his hand and pulled the handle before knocking on the door. He did it twice until a woman arrived, a servant woman to be exact.
She opened the door, poked her head out, and looked at Li Xin. "Do you need something?"
Li Xin cupped his hands politely in greeting. "I am Li Xin. I recently arrived in the village and plan to buy a house and start a business."
"I came to the village chief's residence to ask for permission."
"A business... what kind?" the woman asked.
"A medicine shop."
