The guard led me through corridors without offering an explanation. It made me nervous.
Normally, if Hades wanted to see me, someone simply informed me. There was no urgency attached to it. Something was different this time.
The feeling settled heavily in my stomach I dragged my feet. By the time we reached Hades office, my palms were damp. The warrior stopped outside the door.
"The Alpha is waiting." I nodded. The warrior bowed and left.
I stared at the large wooden door for a long time. I took a deep breath before I knocked.
"Enter."
Hades didn't waste any time to answer. I pushed the door open. The office was quiet, sunlight filtered through the tall windows. Hades stood near one of them, staring outside.
He didn't turn around immediately. In fact, he acted like he didn't know I was there. The silence stretched and it made me uncomfortable.
