Morning came quietly.
For the first time in days, I had slept without another vision. There had been no endless forest, no frightened woman running through the trees, no voice whispering for her to run yet I woke just as exhausted.
I lay staring at the ceiling, replaying every word Agnes had spoken the day before.
There are people born... different. Do not be afraid of them.
"I am done waiting." I said aloud.
I had spent too many days hoping someone would finally tell me the truth. Agnes spoke in riddles. Hades protected me with silence….or that's what I thought. Cassian knew more than he admitted.
Even Carina, who had always been honest with me, seemed careful whenever the conversation drifted toward my mother. It was exhausting hoping that pie of them would reveal the truth to me.
If no one was willing to give me answers, I would start looking for them myself. I know I had said this countless times but I was serious about it now.
